I remember running squad on a 750ti back in beta and I could achieve 50fps with it, even though everything was turned to low. How times have changed. Even a 3050 sometimes struggle to run at 60+ FPS nowadays.

I don't think situation is bad. Every player was a noob at the beginning. The more people play PR - the better. They'll learn eventually. As long as it's without toxicity, - it's good :)

Was a avid PR gamer like 8 years ago, probably got like 400 hours. Squad released (I'm at about 500 hours), forgot about PR until 6 months ago, and get yelled at to learn the game since I'm rusty by some kid that probably gagged on a pacifier when I was in my PR prime. Nice B-) (Only took some hours to be up to speed tho, highly recomend going back to PR)

Yes! Me and my Dad tried Coop recently and we had no idea what we were doing! We had to look up that you need to request specialty kits by holding T in the spawn menu because you can't really use any vehicles without the crewman kit. I was like, where are the other classes? You need to do this to get Sniper and Designated Marksman as well.

Lol.. haven’t watched it but I’m one of them! 1,000 hours in squad. Went 7-2 my first game in pr lol. Pr gameplay is exactly how I wished squad was. Slow and tactical. If you aren’t slow you will miss all your shots due to deviation. I’m loving it.

Got yelled at to read the Manual, it helped. But lots of PR (and it’s the reason I stopped playing months ago and only recently got back into it) is so fucking toxic to anybody slightly new. If you ask a question, 9 times out of 10 the server yells at you and tells you to quit, whereas squad players have servers specifically made to have vets of the game help newish players, which since it doesn’t exist in PR, should be understood that new players want to hop in the playable servers and can ask for a little help.

This is Great. I just saw this title in a Squad review. Just got Insurgency and Sandstorm - debating which I want to return and possibly see if my laptop could handle Squad for the slower pace more team oriented gameplay. Then I see this Project Reality and it too good to be true.. Team oriented gameplay with lower cpu requirements than the newer big name franchises. Downloaded and jumped in tested good. Cannot wait to see if I can get into a game like the ones you show.

Oh god, I need to back to PR. And it's great that you don't need a copy of BF2 to play this anymore. I used to play this a lot, especially co-op mode on "single player" (because I mainly want to shoot the guns and try out the kits) back in the day. And I'm glad that the quirkiness are still all there so I should be able to just drop back in with a shallow relearning curve. First thing's first, I need to get my Discord friends to play this with me in a co-op so we could learn the mechanics together. And I do hope there are good servers near where I live with reasonable ping that I can just join and play things seriously.

@@crumpetcommandos779 for sure. Fans of WW2 stuff are kinda sleeping on it. You do have to own the Steam version of RO1 but I think it's worth it. The gunplay is just really solid, even compared to stuff like HLL. As well, you have mixed modes for any server size, so if you're lower pop, you can play maps designed for it. Then once you get more people you can play bigger maps that open up different gameplay options, like logistical building and more vehicles.

Idk, I’ve played PR enough to know the skill levels aren’t so different. I’ve seen some truly dogwater PR SLs make some dumbass plays and have zero flexibility PR has so much more than Squad but the player quality is very similar

Kay lads, we shall head on banzai charge the enemy's heavily fortified position on these hills, (it worked!) We only used bayonets for no actual reason but the smoke allowed us to get close enough for melee and we killed over 20 pp, securing the hill.

@@muki3856 the reason behind turning off antivirus is because it tends to be "over-protecting" if the antivirus is not sure if theres malware it will take the safe route and say theres a virus.(if it didnt do so it would not be reliable and ppl would choose different antivirus) google it up.

What i hate about PR is the old graphics hardly make me able to see far away ppl without scoped, and the two white dot system. Its retarded that a trained soldat can't shoot a man walking 5 meter from him just becoz he didnt aim for 5 seconds at the man. Also the fact people (players) have poorer understanding about combined arms (or letting any folks catch a ride) compared to Heroes and Generals player, even though its supposed to be "project reality" and full of "milsim" folks. Remember there is an "I" in "IFV", and "P" in "APC" guys!

Pro's and Con's, bro. Well, while we can't argue that Squad has fancy graphics, bigger playerbase and it is really good game by itself, PR has much more content in it, as well as variety. Yes, it's clunky, it's hard to learn, its graphics is outdated, but this game has soul in it. Developers still working on it, for almost 15 years already, and this game is FREE. And don't forget that Squad developers wanted a SUCCESSOR to PR. For me, PR is a perfect blend between Battlefield and ArmA. And while I think there could be some improvements made to make PR even better, for me, it is superior to Squad. Would like to read your opinion, if you want to continue this conversation :)
