That's so funny. The model overhaul to ZSS to make her thiccer was as much to make her look better as a character design (Seriously Brawl ZSS and even her first overhaul was unrealistically skinny) as it was to nerf her by giving her a bigger set of hurt boxes and spheres.

Most of the changes are pretty well thought out, but there's some outliers like reverting Marth dair to its og landing lag and nerfing Link that I don't think anybody was asking for, but I don't know for sure.

Is giving him, like, 1% less damage on one move really that bad? I guess the weight change is pretty big. But the third change they made seems like a huge buff. That's gonna make boomerang WAY safer.

@VisaCardholder I mean yeah, the kb is uncompensated so it's just a flat nerf to his best kill confirm, I'd argue that's kind of a big deal. The grounded boomerang catch animation could always be avoided by shielding or being in any other animation anyway so it's not at all a buff to how much you can spam it, just a quality of life change, which while Nice is not in any way compensation to the other nerfs imo

I really apreciate how the dev team makes really well thought out small changes to top tiers. I despise how main series Smash thinks gutting and overnerfing previously successful characters is effective game design when it just makes the characters less fun on almost all angles. Wario had some tweaks to grab knockback growth and Waft body hitbox knockback. Minor stuff that I can live with because the character and his combo options remain fun.

Personally love all the changes, feels more justified using the previously busted characters even amongst my less skilled friends. Hoping for volleyball singles & doubles in 4.0🤞costumes & music has never been P+’s strongest suit tho but I can always figure out how to replace that myself I guess👍

To anyone crying about the nerfs, I think p+ desperately needed this. I feel like p+ and pm can be frustrating for melee players to play since a lot of the combo routes and options are way easier and often times free (ie the many grab kill confirms). Like low and mid teirs in melee required a lot of work arounds to their lack of options that make them fun to explore and extremely hype to watch in bracket. When I see the same knuckles combo a million times in tournaments it gets old. I think these nerfs are actually quite amazing, it almost feels like they had a vision to de-homogenize the consistant playstyle of every (higher tier) character, and give them a chance to be diversified and explored. I think watching characters like lucas and knuckles will be much more interesting now because people will have to change up how they play the same character rather than all doing the same things.

There’s less time for neutral and defense when top tiers touch you and you die, every character being Fox is not fun so I think the changes were great and no character got destroyed or anything like a lot of people in this comment section cries about.

From what I remember with using her she was just very solid all around, but didn’t feel as technically strict or precise as other characters in order to do well. Though I say that as a Captain Falcon main who came from Melee, so it might be my biases there.
