It think it’s cuz they use their facade for different reasons. Mafuyu needs it to hide her depression. Akito does it cuz he wants to give off a good impression to ppl or if he respects them. He is very smiley w/ Airi, likely cuz he he respects her. And hes nice to Mafuyu, but drops it only when interacting with Ena and is back to smiling and apologizing for Ena’s behavior. If he sees them as someone hes close to or is angry at, he won’t pretend to be gentle or smiley.
