Also even if Ena will never admit it (because the Shinonome family is a family of Tsunderes) but she really does deeply care about her friends and Akito, she often goes out of her comfort zone for them even when she doesn't need to (like when she bought a younger Akito shoes or when she didn't pressure Mizuki about their problems, or when she honestly tried to help Honami with art), sure she might be abrasive, too confrontational, and argues with them often but she really cares about them.

I think it says a lot about Mafuyu’s mom that when asked whether she could model for her and stay over, her problem isn’t that she doesn’t know who she’s staying with and as such worries for her safety, but rather needs her to study more. Just someone’s name who’s famous is enough to put her at ease. But I do think that maybe Mafuyu might not have to cut contact with her mother. There r times she’s been somewhat reasonable, so maybe there’s a chance a talk could get through to her. There are parents who care for their children but show it in the worst ways. And only change when told how damaging their behaviors are.

no, i don't think so. ultimately, her mom does NOT care for her as a person, she only views her as an extension of herself, as a "tool". she believes she's always right. people like that won't ever admit that they're in the wrong. instead, they'd often gaslight the hell out of you and/or blame you for their own actions, or even try to guilt-trip you or something else, the possibilities to abuse your own child are basically endless. (sadly)

@@janonim8945 YES, "long-time investment" feels like the word (well, "words" more like) that'd fit her mother perfectly! mafuyu overall is a character i feel very strongly towards, and issues with my own family play a big role in it. my mother... yes, i think you could say she's pretty similar to mafuyu's mom. she's always viewed me as a "thing", not as a "person". she had invested in me, and she wants me to "be worth" of all the resources she "wasted" on me... and yes, expects me to help her later on, so that she'd never have to do anything or sth like that, she even said something along these exact lines several times. so uh i know this probably kinda wasn't asked for and looks like a vent and all, and maybe it really is, idk, i just felt like i needed to write this
