Just had my first go on CDDA on B42. Took me a few hours to just get through the first hurdle: the cold. The zombies are far more abundant in lone houses and that makes the initial safe spot not so safe any longer. Eventually found a group of military zombies. Got very well stocked on those and managed to survive through the cold. This mode doesnt have the new street lights though... and extreme darkness at nights. Looking forward to the first flashlight.

You're playing one hell of a brave game and I'm impressed you survived the first few nights! I wish you the best of luck, new Muldraugh sounds like a fun place to explore too go make the most of it! I'm dreading when the power goes out but I'm very excited for it. The dark nights are something else. Shame about the street lights though, they look great in the base game!

He’s been giving grief all round, think he’s got a little bee under his bonnet🤏 The cold at the start is no joke though, zeds are like homing zeds at the minute too I dread to think what CDDA’s like

@@Vulrhund I'm still alive on that run, but MAN does it take time to get from point A to B. Weight is crashing down, zombies requiring a good few ingame hours to dispatch and they seem quite more focused on chasing down when you least want them to. I don't know if it's respawning, but they seem to be dispersing and relocating in small pockets much more regularly and backtracking often leads into another. Nighttime is still a nightmare and if one doesn't have a safe place to sleep at 7-8pm, one better hope their navigating in pitch darkness is on point, because that is quite the difficult feat. It's a nightmare.. and I am loving it.

Feels completely different, but still the soul of the game we know and love. I like that the zombies feel more like a threat. The lighting in the towns absolutely gorgeous at night as well!

What do you mean by completely different? I appreciate the quality and number of changes in the game, and you do feel it of course. But in the grand scheme, not much has really changed? Still feels like PZ to me I've seen some people say "it feels like a completely different game!" And I really don't see it I also find myself a little underwhelmed with it ngl - this part is maybe my ignorance showing through, but why did it take them SO LONG to roll out all of this? Comparing what has went into B42 with what modders have added since then, it feels like some of this could have been delivered earlier and I honestly expected a bit more

I shall experience b42 through your videos. I'm gonna wait it out a little bit before I try it, I wanna see what they do first. I also wanna see if I can survive a challenge I'm currently doing, which is play with stupidly high population numbers combined with Expanded Helicopter events. It's been surprisingly difficult with zombies having Pinpoint hearing, so I changed it back to normal hearing. My last play through, I was literally in the middle of no where up by that radio tower by the country club. I run out to go back to my car that I left way down on the main road, thinking I'm safe. I couldn't even make it to my car because there were hundreds of zombies everywhere, most likely drawn in by heli events. There were so many zombies that I didn't even die from a bite, I died because I kept falling down and fractured something, I don't even know what I did, but I look up and my health is red and I was like WTF! All I had time to see was that I had a fracture. I know it wasn't a zombie because I never zombified. I shoulda just shot my way out. I always panic and try to run instead of just shooting forward with the shotgun I already have. PZ is way harder ever since they made that change where you fall down if you try to run through hordes. I didn't know you could get fatal injuries from it, wtf! xD

Pinpoint hearing is absolutely wild, same goes for their tracking being super high, makes the game so very hard! Expanded helicopters is a great one though, I wish you all the luck! Hahaha I've been in that situation one too many times and it never gets any less terrifying but also incredibly fun! The amount of zeds that expanded helis brings out is like no other :D Shooting your way through is just the tried and tested dream run, glad you made it out alive either way! My god tell me about it! Fighting your way through, stumbling over everything and having too much panic and stress to be able to fight made it so incredibly hard! I'm yet to get a fracture but man is it tough even without! Also, is a pleasure as always to see you down here, hope you're holding up well!

Watching this for like the 4th time (first 3 because I fell asleep) and the 4th because my partner wanted to watch to learn 😅 So keen to learn about 42 and fall in love with new characters all over again, this change feels like it's going to add so much life and storytelling to the base game 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I’m stoked about the new gun combat system. I found it so cumbersome to use before. Literally one of the first things I noticed is how easily you can shoot zombies through open windows, and for some reason that just catapulted everything to the next level lol

The weapons combat all through is a huge change and I’m excited to start really playing with it, just hand to hand at the minute is wild enough! The gun combat will be very interesting once the levels start flowing, the handgun for now is just as useless as ever :D fingers crossed the shotgun is still a master leveller!

Maybe try verify the file integrity? It may have updated and caught something weird that just isn’t quite playing ball. All fingers crossed for you man, at least if it doesn’t work and you do have to wait it’ll be freshly polished for when you arrive!

The little flip flap is my only gripe, otherwise I'm loving it all. If you time it right it's completely avoidable, I think it registers as a normal swing if you rush it and flings them back the other way it's strange but I get you!

The new muscle strain mechanics are absolutely ridiculous. Tying it to melee weapons makes no sense

It’s definitely interesting but it absolutely needs some work. Tying to individual weapons is the problem, if I can swing a bat at level 6 with Kyle strain, I shouldn’t get immediate strain from a tire iron
