@threedmation7083 oh yeah. I was not using cinema lenses, which seem to have tighter tolerances in the mount. I think that was a 60mm 2.8 Nikkor macro. A buddy of mine 3d printed a clamp for the lens, which would hold a 15mm rod support. That kept the focus motor from tugging the lens and causing a shift

Great video!!! So it may be implied but to clarify, you’re using a second shooter somewhere in there to control the new bloks and kOS to control SARA? Thanks!
@BiolapseStudios
@BiolapseStudios Жыл бұрын
Yes. You can use a connector between the CS and SSplus or Pro, and control it all as an 8 axis system in Kos. You can also connect with dragonframe if you need those extra capabilities.

Why do you need a Vive tracker? Shouldn't the motion control software directly be able to output the camera position and rotation to the Unreal Engine in real-time via a Livelink plugin?
@chrisfield7008
@chrisfield7008 Жыл бұрын
A the time of video, even now to my knowledge, axibo is the only kit that supports livelink, however. Couple of the companies are working on it however.

@@chrisfield7008 let’s hope that more moco systems get compatible with unreal engine and Livelink. I would be very eager to test Axibo indeed

Hello. I am building a Dragonframe six-axis "Little Otto": 1500 mm x 1000 mm. How many limit switches Otto handled? Did you modify the Arduino sketch to configure them? Can they be configured on the DragonFrame GUI?. Little by little , I started collecting all the parts I need for "Little Otto". For all your subscribers this is not a entry level task. Awesome build. Thanks a lot.

That's awesome! Be sure to check out the DIY Motion Control page on Facebook. Regarding limit switches, that requires either a DMC16, DMC32, or DMC+. The DFMOCO and DMC-Lite deployments won't work with limit switches. OG Otto had limit switches in its origional deployment. I used them a while and then ditched them. If you are moving and hit the switch, beware the system does not immediatly stop but slows down to a stop. They cannot be used to zero or anything like that. I found thier usefulness pretty minor, none of my dragonframe robots use them now. You can do virtual limit switches however which work the same and require no hardware.

@@BiolapseStudios Thanks so much for your quick reply. I will try to modify the DFMOCO sketch instead of getting a DMCxx.I have few tentative sketch changes in mind .At start up, I will send all motors to a specific home position; second, if I can sniff the COM port while running dragonframe, I can keep track of the actual stepper motor position and have it saved in Arduinos eeprom. Third, after start up, I will send the motors back to the last position they where sit at to the position stored in eeprom. One good thing in our favor is that for camera shooting highs speed are not a problem. I am really inspired by your high level top notch creativity. Thanks man again
@BiolapseStudios

@@threedmation7083 I may be off target with the reason of saving motor position to eeprom, but if it is to be able to shut the system down and have it remember its position, you can do that do that in dragonframe, i think the option is "Set to move position" in the axis menu on each axis. Its a good way to recover if the rig has not moved and things got shut down or had to be reset. I think it has a similar result to what you are looking for. I have a video on here on how to recover from a power loss that shows it. But there is no problem with a little automation to make things easier.
@threedmation7083
@threedmation7083 4 күн бұрын
@@BiolapseStudios I agree 100%. Adding limit switches implies more work and the need for them is not that critical. The to-do list is already large. Thanks for your advice.
