I think there is application error. Where Perma seal sprays on much more slowly you have more opportunity to aim it and get it in the void. So when you move on to Rustoleum its clear and may get more heavy application cuz it's harder to see and you used black not clear or white for the Flexseal so it's coverage may have been the least/thinnest application of all three. Also each test may not have been ideal for the type of application which is why Flexseal made other products for different situations. The very first thing in the Directions on Flexseal say, "For best results use multiple coats" in all capitol letters. When Phil Swift turns a antique truck into a submarine or screen door bottom boat I don't think he used one coat. I know this is an older video so I'll go check out the next "Spray on seal" comparison video and see how that goes.

That is a good tip, Mustie. I always used spray paint and seat the bead while still a little "green," but that didn't work on the small tires on my tiller, for some reason. Neither did dum-dum. Gotta try the Flex. I've used it with good success on roof leaks, but it was the paint on, not the spray can.

This hjas actually been done multiple times. Generally, Amazon Basics are some of the best performing, and cheapest you can get. Anything labeled "Heavy Duty" is usually a Zinc-Carbon chemistry from the 40's (?), and always much worse than any Alkaline. Also, the Amazon Low Self-Discharge are cheaper and perform about as well as top tier Eneloop for rechargeables. Not sure you want to waste test time as this has all been done before.

Where the bucket treated with Permaseal leaked ( 5:10 ) it appears it leaked below where the sealant was applied, which isn't conclusive. The Flex-Seal bucket had its sealant applied all the way to the bottom.

One thing I'd like to say is that I had a similar thing happen to me with flex seal. How it was really easy for it to be scratched off the metal. But after leaving it for a week, it reaches a strength that makes it really difficult to nearly impossible to remove from the metal.

If there is 1000 comments you’re still respond you Amaze me that’s why I like your channel sorry my comment wasn’t so upbeat I don’t mean to be I wasn’t trying to be negative in anyway we got to get back into the engines. We must destroy the Toro recycler I want to see the connecting rod goes through the garage door. My wife has a suggestion for a engine oil have you tried Olive Oil. Or if you already done that one? Yes great time with the family today thank you for asking. Hey 24 days till Christmas buddy enjoy General repair Mike

General repair, no worries! It's always great to hear from you. I'll run nitrous through the old toro on Monday, but that Toro is hard to destroy! I'll keep trying. I like your wife's idea but olive oil will likely add a lot of life to that old Toro. lol. I'll try olive oil for sure in the future. Thanks again and hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I found out that Flex Seal is pure crap, my rubber garage roof started to leak at a seam so I sprayed it with flex seal spray and it worked-for about one month and the roof started to leak again in the same spot! When I checked the Flex Seal it had completely dried up to a crust, due to the heat and sun, I had to wire brush that crap to clean it off.
@aaronthomas61556 жыл бұрын
Yes, Flex seal fails rather quickly under heat. If you apply it to something that isn't subject to "extreme" temperatures, it works well as a temporary repair. It was never meant to be used as a permanent repair though.

from what you said , it sounded like it worked pretty well. You spent 10 to 15 dollars for a months worth of time. Plenty of time to get one or two pay periods to help you out . Based on what you said, i would use it. But thanks for heads up on heat, I had not thought about that.

Its nice that you put the price and the size of the can but can you add the unit price. In other words make it so that its per one ounce unit. Also many times I'm able to listen to your videos as I multi task so the more you put numbers on the screen I miss out on some valuable information and that would be super helpful, maybe if you can include some voice over work if that's not too much trouble? Either way I always thumbs up, and I stay subscribed with the bell rung because the amount of work you already do shines through! Its amazing the amount of thought you put in these videos, your methods of testing are always very creative and effective, I was super suprised during your saws all that you had people questioning you about how much weight to add. I know that you probably considered it heavily before performing the tests and rather than be insulted that they would even question it you included the thought process behind the experiment in the next video, cudos!

This would be a great idea for all future videos really. Though it's still not accurate in application. Two products will have varying amounts needed for the same job/performance. Too hard to measure: Cost per application.
