I can't wait until navigation is projected onto the roads in front of us using this tech (on our windshield). So many possibilities, and even more when autonomous vehicles are truly commonplace.

The HUDs in modern fighter jets do exactly that.

is it the glass '' inviscreen '' the allows projection or could any Plexiglas or glass work ? i love it

It's actually an adhesive film that you can apply to any glass or acrylic.

I can see it now. This would be so good on like a space cockpit where you would have like windows looking outside and then the inviscreen would be like a monitor so you can still see outside but you also get to be productive. But not like an actual spaceship.

It would look cool if it was used as a tv. A projector would hide in a room and point at the glass, or maybe as a decoration.

Thanks for the review. From my point of view the most important question that has not been part of the video is how can you project images and AR on glass using this "film" without getting blinded by the reflection of the beamer? Is there a way to hide that beamer light or use mirrors at a certain angle to avoid that to happen?
@philipp7pc2 жыл бұрын
You might have to avoid this by projecting from an angle that avoids the eye level and then correct for the distort.

Great video, Philipp. You gave a good amount of info on its uses in a restaurant setting but I was wondering about its uses in a theater setting. Do you think that I could use this type of glass in a house set and use a projector to display fake scenery or people behind it? If you have any ideas for different uses of this please leave a comment. This glass seems like a very versatile piece of technology and I would love to see more applications of this.
@philipp7pc4 жыл бұрын
I guess there are many uses in a theatre too. It's not so much for hologram like effects. But whenever there is glass on stage that needs projections this might be a good adon.

Is the pane directional, in that does it need to be oriented to the projector being above or below the projection angle?

There are different films for different applications. Front or rear projection. But as far as I know they now only sell one kind that kinda works both ways.

Is this glass or vinyl in nature? Do you make this big enough that I can suction cup a large pane on the inside of the rear window of my vehicle? I would like a transparent or frosted version for projecting ads from inside my car.

It's like a vinyl film that then sticks to the glass. Careful though with the adverts - depending on You local laws. ;]

What kind of projector works best with this. Also it also probably goes through correct
@philipp7pc3 жыл бұрын
It goes through. Yes. Depending on the situation a wide angle might be nice because the light that goes through is being spread over a wide area losing its intensity.

@@philipp7pc do you know if it can be used on top of plexi glass? any suggestions for cost efficient glass surfaces?
@philipp7pc3 жыл бұрын
Yes, for the test I used pieces that were on plexi. It depends on what situation you use it. If it's not in a theatre or around people real glass might be the cheapest.

Would this work on the back glass of my hearse/funeral car?
@philipp7pc11 ай бұрын
Jeeez, ;] Well I guess, as long as the light situation outside is dark enough. But isn't there an opaque film on the back windows of those vehicles anyways? That might be a good rear projection surface.

@philipp7pc11 ай бұрын
@espirituhuntress6664 I'm on a search myself. I saw some really interesting material on vitrines in stuttgart. The owner said, it was from a solarium supplier. They offer film with an adhesive for glass that is see through from one angle and completely opaque from another.
