Highly enjoyable film, the actors were good enough, the setting was fantastic, and the story was good if not a bit to long. The effects, lighting, and audio could use some work, but I'm assuming this was very low budget and perhaps this was the best you could do with the resources available to you. With regards to it being a self made film, I'd consider it a job well done.

Great tension and build up. Good writing and acting. Had some other great ideas on the ending that I was hoping to see although this one was sufficient. Would have been cool if the boss was in on it from beginning for the free employment or if those 2 at the end were the actual movie people were watching in theatre.

Creepy and all but i don't get the reason behind the scaring or haunting of the theatre. What's the story? Plus why would you stay in a job if you know it's driving you insane? And the guy was a pretty good actor but at times it seemed like he over acted...just my opinion.

SPOILERS I guess I'm just not familiar with what the projection area in a cineplex looks like. There is so much equipment. I get that it's dark and shadowy and weird sounds bleed through from the different auditoriums. I didn't exactly get a sense of what was getting him all tense. There were shadows and weird noises, yeah so what? There were a couple of times he saw somebody that freaked him out. I would have assumed some b*st*rd customer playing a sick joke, not monsters after me. So I wasn't understanding his increasing agitation. It was creepy af when the manager as much as admitted there was something in there and suggested a knife for protection. I kind of thought he would get startled by the coworker and knife him. Sorry but you really needed to do something much more to get me creeped out because I just wasn't feeling it. Great acting though, cinematography was nice, sound effects kind of murky just a kind of moaning, dialog was natural, pacing was rather slow. I found the projection area pretty interesting, I guess I'd like to know more about that.
@TapeSlateProductions4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your well-versed feedback! The projection area for theaters differ from building to building, but the one at Thunderbird Cinemas is under lock and key. Not to mention, the projectionist has long nights alone to get all of the projectors ready for the next day. Daniel was seemingly alone, but he knew he wasn’t. This is why he became unstable during the runtime. There was a month of long, unforgiving nights, that furthered his mental state into places he had never been in before. But at the end of the day, what do you think is real?

It was enjoyable enough, the lead actor did a great job, maybe overacted a little at some points, but it fit and was terrific. I'd say it was a bit too long, especially since the ghost/spirit whatever only showed up at the end. This is just personal preference but it should've showed up a few more times before the end, because it felt very out of left field. Despite this the actor who played the ghost did a good job with the little screen time he had, his laugh looked very creepy and menacing. There were some audio and lighting flubs but there were also some really nice shots. To sum it up, this could've used some cleaning up, but it was still pretty good. You earned a sub!

Good movie mostly but the sound was hard to push through
@Pit_Lord4 жыл бұрын
Man the editing and the sound mix really drop the ball here. The ADR is horrific. The ambient noise in all the scenes is awful and the EQ is tuned differently for different voices and sounds. There’s this clash of multiple volumes and tones in single sentences. You should have just dropped the buzzing noise inside the theater entirely and had a score over it or something. Maybe it’s feedback from your equipment, honestly I hope that’s the case, because if it’s a conscious choice it’s hard to see why you would think that to be a good idea. The movie is fine, if a bit long. I don’t think the interview scene is all that necessary, I think it would be better not knowing anything about him other than he’s got a job that he really needs. Actually, you could cut out the Manager character entirely as nothing he does or says actually matters with regard to what goes down. A person losing his mind and scared to death would certainly not need a suggestion or exposition to establish why he would pull a knife out to defend himself. And maybe consider cutting one or to of the smoking scenes. Acting is solid, except for whatever the lead actor is doing while smoking...has he never seen people smoke before? But, other than that, he’s quite good. Regardless, it’s the technical issues make it hard to stay immersed. There’s a good film in their somewhere, but it’s about 20 minutes long and involves an actual audio engineer onboard. Don’t get me wrong I did enjoy it. It has a nice atmosphere to it and it does get better as it goes along. I just thought it could have been a lot better with a bit more time in the oven. An editing and a remix could accomplish much of that.

Almost a good one... Mr. Director, please at edit at least 10 to 15min out of this suppose to be short. All actors were good but the entity in the hat needs to be a lot scarier...hats and clown makeup and blurty cgi are not scary, or enough for employee of the month to lose his mind. Suggestion... management should say two main character no smoking rule a hundred yards from place of work....now you don't get paid. Also, of a touch of irony would be if the jerky boss got it in the neck, not the nice middle manager

Having the Ink Spots on your soundtrack is already a plus. It worked for Shawshank Redemption. Great psychological horror. The lead young actor was good in his slow descent into madness. The manager definitely knew something. He probably has to provide living souls to this entity in order to keep himself sane and undisturbed. He also knew a "knife to the neck" wasn't going to work on it and was counting on that tragic event.

It is my opinion you can not make even a so called horror movie without any meaning. There is no logic to any of these movies, and please if I'm wrong, tell me. There has to be some kind of explanation to figure out, and when there isn't, it is all random.
@amandaroman34713 жыл бұрын
I watch maybe 10 to 20 or more shorts a day. So I may have more viewing experiance than others loll. But it wasn’t too bad.. just two things I didn’t care for .... I am not going to be mean. I know many of these films are made by people starting out and may not have the best equipment which is fine so I won’t talk about the flares or anything related to gear. I liked the story it wasn’t bad at all but in my opinion 40 mins was too long. I got a bit bored with the same thing over and over and no answers. Even as it ended I didn’t get anything so I am still here 45 mins and no clear answer as to what happend here. Was he insane? Was it haunted? Did the boss know? Was the boss the monster or was the guy imagining... etc etc now I love shorts that has a good open end so I can come up with different theories but usually the theory is what happens at the very end or what will happen next not the entire story. So that’s the biggest part I didn’t like. The entire story really didn’t have a meaning or purpose if that makes sense and it’s too long but I am NO PROFESSIONAL. It’s just my opinions and I KNOW I couldn’t make something at this level so I am not saying it’s bad at all and can see a ton of potential here with the film crew and actors. It wasn’t too bad just a bit drawn out that’s really it. As comments say there is many who did enjoy it and That’s all that matters. I hope you guys continue to produce films and I’m sure everyone will do just fine here. :) I don’t want to be a jerk just giving my opinions as sometimes it helps in future productions to hear what people think who’ve watched and gave honest opinions on it. :) Anyways great job none the less like I said I’m not a pro and can’t make anything this good so don’t ever Get discouraged.
