Projection Mapping Demonstration

This is a first attempt at 3D Projection Mapping i conducted in my apartment for a thesis paper. Intentions are to take on more elaborate projection mapping projects in the future..
UPDATE:
This is a throwback to my initial discovery of projection mapping in my Chicago apartment, using a stack of boxes, 1 projector, photoshop, after effects and maya. All the content created for this was forced perspective, through photoshop and no warping software was used.
This trial and error approach to learning projection mapping before leaning on warping software greatly helped me understand the dos and dont's of complex 3d animations as they apply to projection mapping.
At our company today (DCBolt Productions) we lean on multiple platforms of video processing and warping technologies to take on the most complex surface areas and projection challenges.
We always love looking back at this video to remind us of our humble beginnings and appreciate how far we've come.

Thanks for the info Devin!! I got the free student version of Cinema 4D so i'll definitively be messing around in that. What do you use to project the visuals? I have Resolume 4, it seems pretty cool. But I wanna check out some other programs too. I checked out your website you got some really cool stuff man!

Sure Chris, You really want to get into 3D animation if you're looking for the custom illusions. Try getting into maya or cinema 4d to make some content.

I am super interested in video mapping.. I am currently a graphics design student in college, but what do you use to create/map your images?? I recently started messing around with Resolume 4 but it doesnt seem to be anything compared to these 3D mappings... Any advise for a nub?
