Really silly of them to not include calibration. It's such an easily fixable massive faux pas. The lack of actual 4K is also obviously not the greatest. But that 0.16 throw... it makes this the only UST on the market that's actually sensible to place. A 40 centimeter deep TV bench can accommodate it, and a 120 inch screen fits on a normal wall without being crammed up just under the ceiling. Other manufacturers need to get to 0.16 or so pronto, 0.25 or something is borderline deal breaking. I'm so torn now if I should just accept the shortcomings to get that throw and the light level, and no risk of rainbows...

Hi! Home theater virgin here... So from what I gather, LS800 is good enough as a TV replacement, but is it good enough for a "semi-proper" movie room with 130-140" screen? By "semi-proper" I mean it's about 12x16 ft office with small windows that I intend to keep for ventilation. I'm leaning towards the similarly priced Formovie, but that 4000 lumens and throw ratio really gets my attention, considering also that most 120+ UST screens I found have 0.6-0.7 gains. I don't intend to use the room for watching sports, consuming online contents, or playing video games. So which one is best for my use case? And 2nd unrelated question, do you have any tips for putting a central speaker while using UST? Is it okay if I put it in a lower position? Or should I go for in-wall options if it fits in the vertical offset between the screen and the projector? Sorry for the long questions and thx for the help... 👍

Much Greatness to you always👍, & thank you for providing such great content. Quick question does this model provide edge blending also. Thank you 👊

No built in edge blending in the sense of being able to combine two to create a wider image. There is an unusual button on the remote that can help slightly blur the edge of an image if that is helpful while the picture is projected on a wall rather than a sharply defined screen.

@@romeocasanova3865 For edge blending you want the epson 810e. That's the business flavor of it. 5000 Lumens instead of 4000, ditches the yamaha sound and gaming mode low latency, but gets you the edge blending.

People who are so called well versed in tech still don't know most UST Projectors "Reasonably Priced" are all Pixel Shifting "4k Projectors" You either have the money to buy Native 4K or you don't and accept that and look for the best quality they offer and all the other important options.

The simple fact the LS800 doesn't support Dolby Atmos via an eARC output is why I'm going to pass on this. I was really ready to buy this, but after getting confirmation it wouldn't be compatible with my sound system, it's an instant no. Maybe on the next model they release they'll include it. EDIT: Also, the very fact the projection unit is ~$3500 and the screen is $3000, how in the world could someone reasonably justify pricing a screen nearly identical to the unit projecting the image?
