On your website the short throw lens z800 is listed as compatible with the vw715 but not listed on the Sony website as compatible. Do you know if it is?

We've heard nothing about one, Victor, but one would think they would have a replacement for their long-in-the-tooth model in the works.

Good morning! I would like to know which projector for home theater is the best, I want an incredible experience so I don't care about the price of the projector but rather the quality it offers, and which retractable ceiling screen do you recommend that is suitable for a top projector? Thank you.

Barco Nerthus is about 400,000USD and is probably the best. You said you don't care about the price. Christie and NEC also make six figure projectors.

Could this unit fill a standard movie screen (~55 feet wide) at an acceptable brightness?

10,000 lumens is a lot for about any "normal" sized home theater environment, even those erring on the larger side (say 12' - 20'). But not nearly enough to provide sufficient light and punch for 50'+ size screens. That calls for an altogether different kind of light engine.

a true LASER projector does not require a lens. it’s very tragic how much of the marketing in (home) theater has decided words don’t matter and that lying to customers is ok. this projector, and 96% of claimed LASER projectors, is actually LCD in the same way a sanyo projector from 2005 is. the only difference with these new projectors is a brighter and longer lived light source. that isn’t good enough for hucksters who tricked the public into believing they would get an LED television in 2014 when it was actually an LCD with a bunch of diode backlights instead of edge-reflected light strips. lies always sell more so marketing uses whatever they can to profit from ignorance. these paid pushers of hybrid technologies owe it to the public to say what is really being sold.

@tom-cd8fv but are you aware of the difference between using the LASER only as a very bright source of light _and_ using it to actually construct the image? The type of projector that uses a LASER to construct the actual image does not require a lens because absolutely no focusing is necessary. True LASER projector(no focusing lens) is also more efficient.

@@TotallyOther Can you name a true laser projector? Is the JVC nz9 one?
@TotallyOther
@TotallyOther 10 ай бұрын
@@justaguywholikesmovies90 Sony MP-CL1A the jvc you mentioned has a lens. As i mentioned in the very first sentence, this proves it does not use a LASER to make the image. Marketing departments almost never have an understanding of the technology. But they might know how to manipulate the public. Marketing knew only two things about LED technology. The general public had heard they are preferable to LCD and they were also known to consume less power. So every company tasked their marketing muckety mucks with creating lots of statements about LED dimming and LED lifetime and LED response time. They knew people would conflate the holy grail of making the pixels of LEDs with the same old television sets with just a different backlight. YES LED televisions are really just LCD televisions. Similarly almost every LASER projector is really just a DLP or LCD projector with a better lifetime backlight “bulb”. So the benefit of what they call a LASER projector is that you don’t have such a long warmup time and cooldown time _and_ the light source will last nearly ten times longer. Remember, if there is a lens, they are manipulating perceptions. Got it? When a lens is present, the projector is passing light through an LCD array or bouncing if off a DLP chip. But that JVC looks awesome. Just sold with half-truths.
