This comment will probably get lost in the void, but one of my close friends unexpectedly passed recently. Several years ago she showed me this song and told me how much she liked this artist. I remember liking this track, so I saved it and over the years I kept it in my playlists. Now that she's gone, this song's lyrics really bring a different meaning and remind me of her. Rest peacefully, friend. Time called your name. Thank you, Project Pitchfork. I'll cherish this song forever.

Got it! The ladies by the water's edge were really bothering me, as they reminded me of something I'd seen long ago. It's an 1893 painting 'Summer Evening on Skagen's Southern Beach' (it sounds better in the original language: 'Sommeraften på Skagen Sønderstrand') by Norwegian artist Peder Severin Krøyer. Brilliant to see it brought to life in the video, though in much grimmer weather!

Its brilliance is in its simplicity. I never really thought too much about this song originally however, over time Ive come to love it. Universal lyrics that can vibe with many different people, without being generic. The upbeat tempo offsets what would have been a seemingly dreary track. Abfab
