That 2 1/2" adapter can be removed from the dust chute so that it can take 4" hose. No need to reduce it down and then back up

That makes more sense! I looked in the manual and was pulling on that end cap. Must be stuck but it isn’t my tool so didn’t want to break it. Thank you for the comment!

Haven't talked to you in so long, is fun to hear your narrative voice on these. It reminds me of... " Three quarter inch nuts. Three quarter inch bolts. The quarter inch nuts and bolts." "The ruler goes from 0 to 6 inches, or" Your doing great man, I think I've watched all of your videos,

Mike, how did I miss this? I do love the black and yellow, though I do prefer the 735 model for the planer. Nice job, as always. Thanks for pointing out the difficulties you encountered, that's most useful.

Even though its only 2 years ago this vid feels like were way back in the archives! Got another wood planer vid probably next week. Filming it today and tomorrow. Budget priced and helical head, should be cool. Thanks for watching Meat!

@@ProjectsForAllReviews I'll be looking forward to that review since my Rikon is on the way out. Hey, I was working on the coop this weekend and cut through my Skil saw cord. I can't remember, do you review any corded circ saws? I finished with an old Porter Cable, but I don't like it because I had to use my left hand on the handle in order to see the cut line. Buon weekend, Mike!

I need to make balusters for a handrail, worth the purchase?? Paying damn near $12 each baluster, and needing some 50+, I figure I can gain another quality Dewalt woodworking tool, on top of saving a ton of $. Thoughts ideas?
@ProjectsForAllReviews
@ProjectsForAllReviews Жыл бұрын
That’s how I have justified buying good quality tools since I was a kid. Instead of paying for a prefab product or paying a pro to do it I use the money to get the tool. Tools there for the next job so the savings compounds. Good luck with the new planer John!

I have had a 734 for a number of years now. The dust port is 4" straight out and there IS a fan to blow the shavings out.
@ProjectsForAllReviews
@ProjectsForAllReviews 2 жыл бұрын
That’s odd. This 734 has no fan. My 735 has a powerful fan that will blow the chips across the room. Possibly a feature change over the years. Thanks for watching!

I live in Mexico and bought a 734 (only 1 available where i was living) and it does not have a fan. I wish it did.@@ProjectsForAllReviews
@WesB1972

The DeWalt DW734 does not have a blower/fan to exhaust shavings. No Part is listed for the type 1 or the type 20. Look at the parts diagram and for proof.
@jasonlockhart3168

Looks like there is a small turbine that would act as a fan to move chips/shavings out through the dust chute.
@ProjectsForAllReviews
@ProjectsForAllReviews 2 жыл бұрын
Your right about the fan. The owner of that planer was wondering about it too. I suspect it’s for motor cooling and doesn’t push much air but I could be wrong. I still have it and I’ll check it out and let you know. Thanks for watching!
@ProjectsForAllReviews
@ProjectsForAllReviews 2 жыл бұрын
So I put the dust hood on and ran that planner. It does push some air out but it’s pretty weak and it’s only in that one small spot over the cutter head. Still pretty sure it’s for cooling the motor but I does prob help the chips exit the end of the hood.

Hi, any idea if this planer comes with an induction or universal motor?
@ProjectsForAllReviews
@ProjectsForAllReviews 2 жыл бұрын
Couldn’t find any info on this but best guess it’s a universal. Induction motors are heavier and less likely to be on a small portable too like this. Thanks for watching!

@@ProjectsForAllReviews thank you very much. I got a DW 734 from Canada. A 3000W step down transformer should do the magic for me on that one. I'm the same guy asking 21 questions. Remember I asked about converting the frequencies from 60 Hz to 50 Hz. I think I found a solution to my table saw conundrum. Got a ridgid 3650 on Kijiji, for 500 CAD, with a dado blade set. Looks great on pictures. My mate over there will ship to me in Nigeria. I read up somewhere that the ridgid saws are about the same as the lumberjack TS1800 in the UK. I'll call tomorrow to confirm that. If it is, I'll get a replacement motor from the UK. Should do the magic for me. I appreciate your videos and responses. They mean a lot.

I learned a lesson when I bought one of these. If dewalt has a similar tool for $100 more, buy the model that is $100 more. I bought this and it has no upgrade options for the cutter like the more expensive model has. The dust collection is crap on this.
@ProjectsForAllReviews
@ProjectsForAllReviews Жыл бұрын
I have a similar rule about buying the better model when the price is close. I own the DW725 DeWALT and this is a friends. This one works well but you are right the dust collection is poor. The 725 is less portable but has an internal fan for the dust which is so powerful I don't need to turn on my dust collector. The planer will spin up the collector and push all the chips all the way through into the bag, seriously impressive. Thanks for watching!

Is it worth spending the extra $50 for the “beefier” DeWalt planer over this? This one is $550 at HD and the other is on sale for $599
@ProjectsForAllReviews
@ProjectsForAllReviews 2 жыл бұрын
The real difference is this one is considerably more portable. Other than that the Beefier one is better. I have a vid for that model too. Thanks for watching Nathan!
@charlesenfield2192
@charlesenfield2192 2 жыл бұрын
The DW735 has improved dust collection, and an adjustable feed rate, you can feed fast for quicker stock removal, then slow it down on the final pass for better surface finish and reduced tearout. It also has a more powerful motor. If you ever plan to upgrade to a spiral cutter head, as I recently did, the DW734 is a little underpowered. It works great for routine jobs, but wide hardwood boards require a very thin cut or it trips the built-in circuit breaker. If you don't need the portability, then I highly recommend the DW735. I wish I had upgraded before spending over $500 on the new cutterhead.
@WesB1972
@WesB1972 Жыл бұрын
The DW734 weighs 88 pounds, the DW735 weighs 91.75 pounds. That's is not a lot more beef. The main difference is the 2 speed feed and the exhaust blower on the 735.The 734 comes standard with the two extensions tables.
