In today's video I get back on cleaning and setting up the milling machine. I broke something trying to fix something hopefully I can get it fixed and back to operating condition. Suggestion to make on the miller machine; make some decent tooths for youre pulling machine. I noticed you loose grip when you are pulling out the copper motors.

Consider using some felt in the wipers to wipe the ways, and oil them at the same time. Also, cutting fluids and oils will not degrade it and turn it to goo, that can stick to the ways and bring grit with it. Most types of Rubber can be degraded by oil, and cutting fluids.

They sell WD by the gallon cans and spray bottles and I would think they have 5 gallon containers too. At work they would get a box of four one gallon cans and it was cheaper then the spray cans. Keep up the great videos and God bless you and your family.

DB Roberts might have those small specialty screws for your limit switch assembly. I would try a left hand drill for backing out the broken screw.

Might as well replace the limit switches. Also be sure to blow down your scales with air as moisture and oil has gotten in their.

The next time you scrap a ac compressor, save and filter the oil. It is fantastic protectant oil for the table and slides, cheaper than wd 40.

Oh lawdy! There's nothing in my life made me realize there aren't enough hours in the day like a manual milling machine. Looks like by the end of the video you are getting a taste of that. The nit-pickiness will carry into a bunch of projects you will work on, stay careful not to let too many things build up in processing, once things start to get delayed, you got some inception mode backup. -For that Z-axis bracket, the best way to straighten bent metal is to torch it cherry red and then blast it with liquid nitrogen, it'll revert to it's original matrix. Cold forming it like you did may work in many circumstances, it's just not going to be a proper vector, hopefully doesn't interrupt your cuts with the warping, or snap some of the long taps or reamers in their holes, which is a massive pain in the ass, especially deep into a multi-operation job. A jury rig option for reshaping would be to find a snug fitting c-bracked piece a few inches long or maybe machining a piece of steel to size the main box dimension of the rail, tap it along the inside way with a pin punch or chisel or whatever, and where it kinks torch the metal soft, punch a couple inches further, light tap all around the bracket faces blacksmith style, keep going giving time to let the newly softened spots to cool length dependent. Once you knock the feeder core out the other end, give it a full sweep with the torch to loosen it up full length and quench it in some oil. (This type of involved metalworking usually means you don't have a means to get a replacement part, most people pay the expensive price and spare the time, my approach to things is often "how would I do this if I was in the middle of nowhere") -for sharp inside cuts, we'll usually try to find the radius with a fillet gage off the mating piece, drill the points out with small bits. You probably don't have a dovetail that large so whatever your smallest endmill is will get you closest to the angle point, drill out what you can and file the rest to size. -Tiny machine screws can be found in obsolete electronics, VCR's, projectors, things with internal bracketing. I was meticulous in sorting hardware from my scrapping because I had a few spare empty hardware storage panels. But you can amazon a baggie of a couple replacement screws for maybe $8 after shipping. You'll need to identify the thread and size of the screw, either take the good one with you to a hobby store (maybe robotics n drones n stuff) and try to mate the threads to a new one, or if there's a machine shop in that area they should have a thread gage or thread cutters from a tap set to help you out. -I don't weld yet, but yes building a weld on that sheared screw to an angled other piece of metal will let you twist it out, seen it done. Easier than drilling it out because you dont have to worry about a wandering bit damaging the thread of the part. Running a mill can be it's own overtime job, be patient, be safe. Don't make thermite reactions in your shop, separate bins for aluminum and steel chips.

Looks like you don't have a manual yet. Also, the required oil for the head is called high speed spindle oil. Non-foaming requirement? Any idea what the "S" stands for on your model?
