PTFE Teflon Tape is not the correct product for fuel line thread. Diesel will eat it and it can get in your fuel. The Yellow Gas version is for NG/LP gas not liquid fuel rated, so don't use that either. Use Permatex which comes in a variety of types for anything that act like a solvent or fuel. Otherwise yes, and I use quick connects on hoses and valves to kill each side of my filters, pumps, X & Y connectors for duel and aux tanks to flip'em out without fuel, or other dumping all over. Good suggestion. $20 filter or $1500 injectors, yea, no brainer.Recommend change them regularly, cut them open and see what's up on every change. . .

In addition, I installed a tee between the fuel pump and the filter you installed. 1/8 copper line up to a vacuum gauge in the cab to let me know when it’s time to replace the filter.

Guess that’ll be one of the next modifications to do on my ‘99 F-350. That and also a coolant filter system. Just a tip, put some grease on the filter o-ring so it seals better and also makes the filter come off easy the next time you go to change it.

My '02 7.3L Excursion has had a Wix24006 prefilter on it for many years, it used to be a Fire Chief's battalion car.... the hoses on it are well into their "old age" obviously, and to the NaySayers that a 10 Micron filter is bad, that filter has lots of Surface Area, it has not been a problem, ever. I will replace it with the Water Drain version next time. We "Discovered" the 24006 fuel filter when we installed the Fuel Sump, and intended to install a Racor Marine glass type fuel filter with drain.... phooey on that, the Wix is already there.

It should be all the filtration we'll ever need.

What are your thoughts on adding a Cat 1R-0750 fuel instead of a water separator. Do you think there would be an issues there or is the WIX 33405 the ideal filter for this application

Looks good what size bolts did you use to hold the filter base on to the frame?
@ProjectTimeGarage Жыл бұрын
"bout that big" 😂 Honestly, I dug through the Big Bolt Box and found some mismatched junk from another project. 5/16 and a washer will work fine.
