So all in all you fixed something that didn't need fixing, great video explanation Bryan, I'm sure this will help a lot of people out. Well done BTW, the x16 GPS drones if not bound quickly and then compass calibrated after turning on both tx and quad will do the same thing to.. The tx becomes unresponsive to the quad also. I soon found that out by trial and error

Dude THANK YOU!!! I literally returned my first shadow to the store bc the controller was always dead. I got another one and BAM same thing. I was rather upset but then I googled the issue and boom your video fixed the problem immediately. Promark should rewrite the steps to starting up the drone bc telling you that you can connect to app before the binding is WRONG!!!

My instruction booklet (unit purchased for xmas 2017) says to bind in Step 2 then after that (and an explanation of the LED functions at that point) it then has a NOTE about you 'being able to use the wifi App NOW or after full calibration'. It does not say you can do this prior to syncing. Thank you for posting these. Mine crashed on flight #2 at 3'. The last drone battery LED was flashing but the large LEDs were still steady and it flipped/crashed in the grass on beginner settings :( I may just go back to the nitro heli, add naza and a camera lol :P I do not know if I had this issue since I never tried the app till tonight in a ground test (after 2 flights, total) but is has provided me some insight. Thanks again. I am considering putting in a molex connector on the board in the drone and adding a 600+ Mah battery. I may even go with a bad boy 10a/3500Mha 18650 if there is room.

Glad that was all it was on yours. My first one was a battery issue and the second one would not bind at all. Also to get it to work in the house without gps lock you can hold the headless button for 3 seconds to turn off gps mode and then hold the takeoff button to start the motors.

Thx for your video..FYI: The instructions and the Video instructions both tell/show you that you MUST sync the remote to the drone first before going to the wifi settings and connecting to the app..I will say this,I did experience the remote/battery be defective and it had nothing to do with this process..So some people who have had the remote/battery be defective is because they are DEFECTIVE,me being one of them who experience that..👍

Glad you got it worked out, there should be a setting somewhere to let you fly without gps lock but then again there might not be one. I've looked around but can't find anything saying you can fly without gps, good luck..

Cool you figured it out! One thing with RC you always most always first turn on the radio then the rc car or plane or quad... maybe try it like this see if it works also... reason why they say always turn the radio on first is so your RC can't malfunction and drive or fly away on it's own. Thumbs up! =)

Yea .. I am just saying you always supposed to turn the radios on first in RC ..example say you have a RC car you plug in the battery and turn it on without turning the radio on first it can get interference and just go crazy take off flying out of control from something interfering with it, why I mentioned always turn the radio on first unless there instructions for some odd reason say not to =)

I had this exact same issue just yesterday! I've had my Shadow drone for well over a year now, have flown it many times, but never had this issue until yesterday. I too thought the battery was dead until I took apart the controller to replace the battery. I discovered that the original battery was fully charged. I didn't see anything wrong with any of the circuitry, so didn't know what could be the problem. I searched for this issue on KZbin and came across your first video about this problem and then saw this video. Thanks to your video my controller works again! Since I already had the controller apart I went ahead and replaced the 300mah lipo battery with a 1200mah lipo battery. I had been wanting to do that anyway. Something you didn't mention in this video in reference to your 1st video on this issue which I'm curious about.. In your 1st video you mentioned that you had contacted Promark about this problem. Did Promark ever get back in touch with you about this? Just curious about their customer service. A HUGE THANKS to you for making this and the 1st video about this issue. It has helped me and I'm sure it has and will continue to help other Shadow drone owners!

I really thought I had a fucked up remote, I flew this thing only a couple times, charged the remote.. I clearly had the steps wrong, it's crazy that they don't let people know this, cuz my remote is charging overnite etc... I havnt tried this technique yet but I'm sure it's going to work... thx for the insight... I'm a rookie to this

If you are inside you wouldn’t have to do the compass calibration. Instead you would want to turn off the GPS. They call it, overriding the GPS. You do this by pressing and holding the Headless button until you hear it beap. Now you can take off, just hit the take off button, that arms the motors. It will go up about 5 feet.

you can by pass gps this way.turn on quad,turn on controller, bind controller with quad.then do level calabration. hold headless mode button down untill you hear a long beep. press launch button. have fun flying inside.

Hi, had this drone for quite a while and today took it out for the first time. After figuring out the "bind" issue calibrated and took off. However, the camera just won't rotate. It does the "camera reset" when first powered up, so the servo itself is working. Camera is also taking pictures/video. I read below that others have had this issue, but haven't seen a fix type reply anywhere. Any thoughts?

On your controller press and hold down the "headless" button. The house icon on the controller will disappear and it will be set to Non-GPS mode and will be pure manual mode. You can fly inside with this mode.

It flys thank you, at what point do you take it off beginner and set parameters and save them. Because as you know it is set to default to beginner mode. Each time you start it is in beginners I know you can set them but it doesn't let me save it. I am probably doing something wrong because I do it when I turn on the app in the order you just explained. I know you can't set return home higher than flight altitude. It doesn't save th e flight settings which according to the manual it is suppose to just asking for your thoughts or any subscribers thoughts thanks

On that settings screen in the app there is a beginner mode switch as well as the 3 settings. Turn it off before trying to change settings then hit save.

IN THE INSTRUCTIONS... Hold the headless mode button for three seconds to switch off the GPS , again hold the button for three seconds to turn it back on... This must be done as the last step before taking off.. Enjoy

This quad is firmware limited to a geofence. See distances in the app. You may be able to get some increase in the video range with wi-fi repeaters and different aerials.

I have a Promark Shadow and i was able to fly it once and now I have yet to be able to bind controller to drone. I have 2 full batteries. I turn on drone then the controller. Once the controller is on i move the left joy stick up then down. I hear a beep for up and for down. After this step the lights will never change again. The 11 and 1 positiin and the 1 and 11 position change nothing and i am unable to ever get solid lights which should indicate ready to fly even after the 360 rotations of the drone. In at a loss. Only been in the air once since Christmas.

You have to wait for the unit to lock in the settings you preformed. After you do the "circles in both planes" put it down and wait... Mine will take approximately 15 to 40 seconds. Then all solid lights means "ready to fly...

I'm new to the whole drone scene. I've followed all the steps and I still can't bind my transmitter with my promark drone. When I try to bind it, my transmitter makes no noise what so ever and doesnt bind. I've tried to look up what was wrong when the transmitter makes no noise when trying to bind. I just got one same thing. I thought it was charged the light was blue I think I went out side and did what you said when I turned on the app. It still shows dead controller. I am new to drones so I figured I was doing something I went back in and it is still charging I am using a 5 port 30 volt so I don't know what to do my controller still in my 15 day store warranty any suggestions ? All you need to do is press up and down on the left joystick when you start your quad it's called pairing your drone ..... so step one turn on drone step 2 turn on controller step 3 place drone on flat surface step 4 press up then down on the left joystick on the controller and finally pair the wifi

I didn't try this but to override the GPS I think u hold the headless mode for three seconds then it will keep gps supposed to be disabled and supposed to be able to fire it up now I read this never tried it

Yes I have the promark GPS shadow drone and the remote control just stopped getting power to it and when I plug it into the USB cord and a red light will suddenly appear and imeditley turn green but it will never charge it just does that and when I take it off charge it has no power it will never come on just the one light will appear when it's plugged into the USB cord it never does have any power when it's not plugged into the USB cord it never does anything but the red light and then suddenly it will turn green but that's all it will do nothing else but that please if you can help me out I would greatly appreciate it thank you

I am having a problem with My shadow drone battery. It worked fine for two days, then one day I took it off the charger and all the battery lights were blue except that one of the lights flashed constantly. when I loaded it in the drone.. the drone lights comes on.. Remove the four screws on the back of the remote and take it apart, make sure the 2 wires are soldered from the battery to the circuit board.

Get your money back and buy a SYMA X8HC, I did a couple video's on it. it flies great and cost less than 70 bucks. its the same quad without the gps.

So i got one of this drone for my Christmas present and was so eager to fly it. When turn on the drone the blue and white lights came on then it goes to the red blinking. When turn on the remote the lights came on with the battery blinking and i know its full charged. The drone also didn't respond to the remote being turned on and just continue blinking read. I am guessing this may be a bad battery issue. If so where can i purchase a new one and if not does anyone has any advice for me plz? Thanks in advance :)

I left my multi-meter at school so i couldn't test the continuity of the battery so to test if it had any juice or is working i hooked it up to a normal dc motor and it works, it spins the shaft and fast too. So i don't think its the battery at fault, idk what it can be now.

Oh, almost forgot to mentioned that i tried it with a friend of mine controller and it worked flawlessly

Sadly that's what i might have to do. I was even looking to buy another remote separately or get a transmitter board and swap it out but couldn't find any.

You can also look into getting the promark warrior it's the same drone it just don't have the gps, and the controller uses regular batteries

So since your not having the issue and others have said the same thing chances are i may have got a defective unit not much of a problem i can take it back in a few hours and replace it and if i still have the same issue then maybe its me some how plus i was also having a issue where the camera wasnt working properly anyway so yeah thanks for the help btw you really do look like bob Newhart lol i love your content and your a pretty str8 up nice guy so thanks.

The camera is really not that good, your better off getting a 20 dollar firefly and mounting it on. A gopro is too heavy for it, i have a video on that also

Try opening the controller and check the negative battery cable. Mine was pinched between the case halves when it was assembled and it cut the cable.

so I couldn't get mine to gps calibrate untill I actually had to spin around 2 times ...if i set it on the ground after 1 time each it never finishes gps calibration....

hold down the button top left of controller it will turn off gps mode and it will arm and fly in the house

Thats what I thought but I bought 3 new batteries and charged them all the way up but it's like the throttle is going all the way up. And one of the motors acts like it slips and will stop. So it doesn't fly
