Brilliant little beginner's drone, I'm very happy with mine. What impresses me about it is the altitude it'll get to (makes for impressive aerial photos) , the range, as well as how easy it is to fly. The part I really like is the return function, if it gets out of range it'll automatically turn around and come back, and when the battery gets too low it'll land itself right back where you took off from.

You actually want your return to home altitude set pretty high. It should be set at least high enough to clear any trees that may be in it's path on the flight back to the home point.

Ok I just got mine in this morning. The battery came with 3 lights of charge. The first thing I noticed after the battery died was it only came with one charge cable. So you can only charge the remote or the battery. One or the other. Also, I used my samsung galaxy fast USB plug that charges 5.0 or 9.0 volts and it charged my battery in about an hour. Not 6.

What does the lights on the battery mean? When I am charging the battery, and the 4th light is blinking, I would press the button on it. Then the LED lights turn to two LED lights. I would like to know what that means.

They have actually been out for about a couple of years now… They have the Warrior drone, the VR drone, and the GPS Shadow drone… They are essentially re-brands of original Chinese drones such as the Syma X8, etc. The drones fly well and they are of good quality, but I have heard that their customer and tech-support may be a bit lacking… But the packaging, accessories, and documentation that comes with these drones is very good... they have a KZbin channel that showcases their drones and have plenty of instructional videos on how to set-up and use their drones…

when wearing the VR goggles (with the mobile device inside), you will be operating the drone from Its point of view… Now remember that the camera angle can tilt using the handheld controller, so if you tilt the camera all the way down, you will be viewing the VR goggles just looking down to the ground (even though you are viewing it from the drone’s point of view)… These are just some things to keep in mind…

I don' think you can control it with the app. You can only get it to take off and land and return home with the app. The 2 joysticks on the remote are not duplicated in the app.

They are powerful brushed motors. It has two main failsafes: low-voltage return to home and loss-of-signal return to home.

Last week, I launched, my PM GPS Shadow and it would hover. Today, the drone runs around in a circle and won't hover. Do I have a switch on or off that would cause this? Thanks for any help, not found the problem elsewhere.

I used a 32Gb, class 10 microSD card. Here is the link: www.walmart.com/ip/PNY-32GB-Prime-microSD-Memory-Card/177388582 I recommend using a class 10 (or U1) speed microSD card with 32Gb (or less). The higher GB options (ie. 64, 128, 256, etc) tend to have the card formatted differently and may be less compatible and may have issues...

I bought this drone the other day. It flew great box says 12 min of flight time but I recorded a video while flying and when the battery ran out and I watched the video it was 18.38 mins long. so it either goes way over 12 mins or I got a really nice fluke. the only thing is I cant find batterys anywhere for sale online I looked everywhere. anyone know where to buy batterys for this thing . it would be nice to have 4 or 5 so you didn't have to be done until the next few hours and wait for your one battery to charge.

Make sure your controller is charged. If you try to turn it on, and no lights appear, then you may have a faulty unit and should consider returning/exchanging it...

Guess what? I had a faulty and returned it for a new one this afternoon. Last question, when I turn the unit off after using it then turn it back on, do I have to calibrate it again? I'm asking because it wouldn't allow me to fly it until I calibrated it AGAIN after turning it off, but maybe that was a coincidence. Has this happened to you? Thanks so much for responding.

it’s always a good idea to calibrate before each flight… That way it ensures that the flight is more precise and stable… but I believe there’s a way to bypass it… I think if you don’t put any inputs as soon as you turn it on for a little while… It will just start blinking (waiting for GPS) and once it has it, it will be solid and you could probably fly without calibrating it… But it’s a good idea just simply to do so before each flight. It’s a quick process and shouldn’t be that difficult.

Make sure that the first thing you do after turning on the drone and the controller is to immediately bind the controller to the drone… That is done by simply putting the left-hand joystick up and down…

Well, that range in the app settings is like a ‘geo-fence’ where it’s almost as an invisible wall & the drone won’t fly past it...it will fly back to its home point if it loses contact with the controller (either turned-off or flew too far from it), the battery power on the drone is low, or the return-to-home button is pushed...

If you do not have a mobile device, you can still fly this drone and take photos/videos… The main use of the cell phone for this drone is primarily to have the FPV video feed, ‘follow-me’ function, and to be able to configure certain settings…

The controller shouldn’t take very long to charge (maybe around an hour or so)… You should at least see some lights if you press the power button… If not, you may have a faulty unit that may need to be returned or exchanged…

Make sure you are outside in an open area with nothing overhead obstructing the sky...it needs to sit like out in a field for a couple of minutes facing the sky in order to grab satellites and good GPS connection.

You are not obligated to do it every time, but it is recommended to do it often (maybe even each time)... At the very minimum, at least each time you fly in a different location... If it is not properly calibrated, it could start to ‘toilet bowl’ and spin around in an uncontrollable erratic fashion… And could possibly become disoriented and crash... A proper calibration is recommend each time… It is a short and quick process…

Yes, you just have to keep the headless mode button pressed for a couple of seconds (until you hear a beep), and at that point you should be able to take off as is… The only warning with this is that if you are far out, you may not be able to use the return-to-home function (to safely return it back from where it took off from)… That is the trade off…

Yes, it is unless you have a 2 or 3 axis gimbal. It is very difficult to have perfectly stabilized video without either using a gimbal or some form of digital stabilization. A gimbal is a motorized camera gyro at the bottom of the quadcopter that counter-acts the effects of motion during flight. The option to stabilized the video using editing software is possible (ie. Adobe After Effects, etc), but it has a learning curve and inevitably crops some of the frame out.

Hey there, I have a problem with my Promark GPS Drone, I tested out my GPS on the air, and it went about 7-8 FT away from my “big” back yard and it was on top of a big building that’s not even ours, so I turned the GPS off by holding the button again and then I adjusted the drone so it will land where it should be, BUT THEN I push my throttle down only a little bit, Keyword:LITTLE and it completely when directly down super sonic fast, it broke one of my landing gears, (luckily it was possible to replace) but what can I do to avoid it? It happened twice already : (

Did you calibrate the gyros on the ground before take off? I think that also resets the barometer sensor so that it properly can detect its hight/altitude and maybe not be so erratic when coming down. It may also just be a faulty unit...

rx344 it recently did it and it did it about 2 times, how can I tell if it’s defective? Is there a way to fix this? I think I’m going to try testing the GPS and turning it off like I did before, but more lower to the ground just Incase, but instead press the auto land button and adjust while it’s landing, hopefully it won’t go crazy! Edit: can it be about the charging as well? I’m at a trip in South America right now and there volts are different but then again I got an adapter for it to charge, but I charged it with an android plug and USB port Can it be something by that? I seriously need answers to see how this wont happen again...

Turn off the drone and then start it back up, then try again… If you are unable to get it working after a couple of restarts, then you may have a faulty unit that may need to be returned or exchanged…

Just bought this on black Friday as a gift, when turned on lights are not red, they automatically are white and blue and can't figure how to calibrate or anything . Directions that come with it do not work on this device . Anyone else have this problem ? Is it possibly defective

Mine does this as well. This just means it's already in calibrate mode. And you can skip the steps 3 & 4 that tell you to put the joystick to 11 & 1 then 1 & 11 and just go onto step 5. My guess is that certain drones have a different firmware that automatically puts it into calibrate mode. It took me quite some time to figure this out and was getting extremely frustrating lmao

Unfortunately, the current version of its app has everything in meters and there are no settings to change that… Hopefully in the next update, they will allow the user to change the units, but so far everything is just in meters…

Well, 12 minutes is what it is...the best thing to do is buy more batteries for it, so that you can fly it longer (land, swap, & fly again). Flying in low wind at low speed and without recording may allow it to fly a little longer...

Mainly if you change locations… So if you always fly at the same park, the first calibration should be enough… But if you go to a different park in another city, it would be good to calibrate it there (and then calibrate it once again when you go back to your routine flying location)… If you want to be very thorough, then it wouldn’t hurt to calibrate it each time you fly (especially if you take-off and notice the quadcopter hovering erratically, you should always quickly land and re-calibrate the drone)…

No matter how many times I go through the steps and get through the proper blinking and unblinking lights it still refuses to fly. Does it HAVE to have a GPS connection to fly? Also the manuel never mentions PURPLE lights and I don't know why. Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong here.

Well yes and no...If you are going to fly in GPS mode, then yes...it requires a good GPS connection to several satellites in order to arm the propellers...BUT, you can disable the GPS by holding down the headless mode button...you should hear a beep...at that point, it will allow you to arm the motors, but fly at your own risk (as it may not know where it took off from and may not return home if you if you need it to, plus, it will drift in different directions as it has no GPS position lock).

Also, make sure you bind the controller before doing anything else… In other words, turn on the quadcopter then turn on the controller and push up and down on the throttle to bind… Do this before using or connecting to the app…

If it weighs over half a pound, yes. The bigger drones tend to surpass this limit easily...

Victor - not bad. Winds definitely affect battery life. What's strange is the last flight I decided to record the entire duration and hit about 69m (~200ft) elevation. While flying around and at lower altitude (20m) I noticed the video recording was choppy - as if it lost signal to my phone for a couple seconds. I'm going to fly again and see if I can reproduce when it's not been so windy. For $99, I'd definitely buy it. I paid $179 +tax argh! The maximum altitude is 120m and maximum distance you can set up to 500m (1640ft). This is done in the iPhone/Android app menu by disabling "Beginner" mode. (Something else I learned hah). The camera quality is "meh". I didn't know what I was going to do with it really, so I didn't really look into a 1080p higher FPS video model. So for goofing around, it's ok... but I wouldn't use it for any sweet aerial shots that would look good as a wallpaper (IMO). Battery takes time to charge for sure. I do get about 12 minutes run-time out of it in about 5 minute intervals as I've just been using it to waste time and check my gutters. Again - for $99, I think it's a great deal BUT I do not have any other experience to compare it to. I still think it was an OK deal for $179 that I got it at.

I haven’t found any at the moment, but knowing Promark...they should be selling extra batteries for this (both on their website & at Walmart) soon. They have done so with all of their previous drones... I’m guessing for the holidays the extra batteries should be available at local retailers...

Does anyone having issue w/ the power button on the Remote Unit? Just wonder how long does it take to charge the Remote unit.? I bought this model on yesterday Black Fri but it seems the remote unit just doesn't turn on. I charged it through my laptop for a while and then I saw a green battery icon light show up on the left of the bottom light bar (there's 2 light bars), so I unplugged it. But when I pressed the ON/OFF button, there's no light show up at all on the light bar. And that does not seem to allow me to do anything (config/setup, etc.).

mitviet D My remote works but the remote battery seems to die out in 15 min or so. Will try charging again to green light.

So 3rd time is a charm. I had to exchange 2 because the remote unit just simply didn't turn on no matter how long I charged it. On the 3rd drone, I got a bit smarter by simply press the ON button of the remote before I unbox anything else and fortunately the lights turned on right away. So I knew it works and the other 2 that I returned to the store was bad.
