I was 17 yrs old & in NYC on my senior trip before graduation when I saw Jerry Orbach in Promises Promises on Broadway. Been in love with Jerry & stage productions ever since. Miss him. I'm now age 71.😊

I didn't see Jerry, but it's his voice I hear in my head because I bought the original cast album. I saw the show on the West End when I was 17 and on a tour of the British Isles with a vocal group.

The only Broadway play I've ever seen was Jerry Orbach in Promises Promises. Something I will always love and will never forget.

Jerry Orbach was the total package. Talented, handsome, sexy and by all accounts a very lovely, kind gentleman. He's also my crush..

He was also super intelligent. Saw him on Jeopardy. He knew questions to every category.

Don't get me wrong, the counterculture 60s were and are an amazing artistic outpouring. But recently I've really been enjoying the mainstream 60s. Equally joyful!

Good lord, I can barely speak after walking a flight of stairs. Broadway talent is amazing. And it’s always funny to see people realize that the actors on tv shows got their start on the stage, singing and dancing. There are so many examples of that.

Donna McKechnie would become even more well known in the cast of “A Chorus Line”! Boy can she dance!

I know most comments are about Jerry Orbach and the dancers of 'Turkey Lurkey Time' (wonderful & amazing!!). Could I just say how wonderful it is to see Diahann Carroll, well spoken and elegant. How she is missed when compared to today's tawdry behaviour and speech.

So classy! The way she speaks reminded me a bit of Julie Andrews

I saw him do this song on the ed Sullivan show when he was on Broadway. I've been in love ever since. I truly truly miss him. He was a wonderful actorI saw him do this song on the ed Sullivan show when he was on Broadway. I've been in love ever since. I truly truly miss him. He was a wonderful actor. I read that he and Jesse Martin, one of my other crushes, used to sing between takes on L & O. He also Introduced the song Try to Remember in The Fantasticks. I'm certain you can find it on KZbin. Have linen handkerchief handy. Jerry deserves the best.

If I could go back to 1969 seeing this production of promises, promises would be at the top of my to do list. I remember my mother had the album.. I was 14. I could watch the turkey lurkey dance number over and over. Makes me smile every time 🙂

So for a while I only knew him from Law and Order, then I learned he did the voice AND singing vocals for Lumiere. I was really shocked and impressed!

I was 19 when I saw the show in previews. One of the most exciting nights of my life. I can remember the quiet excitement of the crowd waiting for the overture to begin, the house lights going dim
