Greetings! I have a quick question on pronouncing some words, I understand that there’s no exact rule on the pronunciations, since it depends on the different regions where you live, in but just for educational knowledge purposes, I’m curious to find out. Please guide me on the words below, 1. Imitator: usually I know if t is between 2 vowels then it becomes a d sound. So is it “imidador”? 2. Naturally: nadurally? T between 2 vowels. I know we usually pronounce the t in this one. 3. Competition: Is it compedition? Or do you pronounce the t? 4. Silent: I know that usually if t is after the n, the t is silent, such as interview: inerview, sentence: senence, twenty: tweny…but since in silent, the nt is at the end of the word, so do I pronounce the t as well or no? Silen? 5. Just like the above word, the consonant, do I pronounce the t at the end as well? 6. I know words like bat, cat, hat, hot, u don’t pronounce the t cause there’s a vowel before it, but what about the word expert and complicate? Do I say exper and complicade, or complicay (cay is just the k sound, without t, please ignore the spelling). Apologize if it’s too much words, but thank you very much for your help!

The thing is all English teachers say pronounce it as a D but when I do that it doesn't sound as amarican
@who5113 жыл бұрын
It's a light d not a strong D. Maybe you have to relax a bit.

I still think that the T is more like R not D especially in the word waTer , look R with some vibration nothing D sound.
