The bisector of any angle in a triangle will divide the opposite side in the ratio of the sides containing the angle. This is proved by using the following fundamentals:
- Alternate Interior Angles are equal.
- AA criterion of similarity
- Sides opposite to equal angles in a triangle are equal.
- An angle bisector divides an angle equally into two.
