Big up my guy. Finally been able to understand Proof by Contradiction after months of struggling with it. Will definitely be using the NACC method from now on. Cheers man, keep the vids coming!!!

11:17 can someone please explain to me why if the square root of 2 is rational 2 = a/b many thanks
@ExamSolutions_Maths2 жыл бұрын
That is because a rational number can be written as a fraction. If square root of 2 is a rational number, then we should be able to write the result as a fraction such as a/b where a and b are integers. If square root of 2 is irrational, then we wouldn't be able to write it as a fraction

I have a question like why we are assuming a/b in it’s simplest form ?

Finally found the best one after lot of vedios with lot of time wasting. Thank you ❣️ Love from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰

But why do we assume that a/b is in simplest form why not any form is it because that any fraction can be simplified ?
@ExamSolutions_Maths2 жыл бұрын
Yes it's because any fraction can be simplified

The correct breakdown should of been. U square both sides and then multiply throughout by b²

I thought this was a really good explanation. Great video 👌🏽 Can you please try to make the audio consistent and less "echoey"? It's not a big deal but would definitely make a positive difference! The audio was best for a couple of short periods at the beginning of the video. The last proof was really cool but at the same time intimidating...left to my own devices, I don't think I would have been able to complete step 3.
@ExamSolutions_Maths2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback J.J Yes for step 3, you have to go along with logical calculations and make reasonable conclusions/deductions along the way. This is where your understanding of numbers properties and working with numbers and algebraic expressions is very important.

b × Square root of 2 = b sqare root 2 . Not square root of 2b.

how are we proving n^2 and n both being even by assuming n to be odd and finding n^2 to be odd? disproving the assumption does not prove the original statement what so ever the assumption was not matched either if we proved the assumption wrong then it would have made sense
@galaxygamerpro38682 жыл бұрын
because any odd number squared is odd there is no even square which can have an odd square root so the assumption is proved wrong and so because the root (n) is not odd, it must be even
