I enjoy watching Joseph Saelee play classic tetris. He is a really good hyper tapper, very unique :) I've recently started to learn how to play tetris so I've got a while to go lol. I also enjoy Jonas as well. Boom tetris for Joseph!

That's not what tetris effect is. It's when you play so much that you are playing tetris in your dreams and see tetris shapes in a daydreaming state

if you pause it at 3:27 he has the square saved in the top left corner he could have switch to that and put it where the line block is now and the once the square was placed switched back to the line peace and got a tetris he could have saved a few secs.

They should probably do this again with some of the best hypertappers to see how much of it is mental acuity and how much of it is physical dexterity...
@skadoosh-_-78 ай бұрын
It's a similar technique used in flamenco guitar it becomes second thought for the hands eventually the physical dexterity falls out of the question because of muscle memory and trained technique and goes back into the mental game

Could the efficient practiced brain, trained by Tetris, be used in other tasks. Or is it only good for Tetris?

I think the biggest takeaway is that if you can train your brain to be more efficient with things like Tetris, you can train it to be more efficient with just about anything.

I'd argue you need less than 20 hours of gameplay to do a 50 line clear at level 10 speed, a few more hours and you can most definitely clear 150 line games

Ummm in 1992, NES Tetris had been out for 3 years, and the NES had been out for 9. Not to mention Tetris was one of the games featured in the 1990 Nintendo World Championships, so not only did people know what Tetris was, but they had a computer to play it on (The NES)

well this shows that practice will make you better and more efficient for that particular task but it doesnt show that tetrix make you specially smarter, maybe other more complete activities like music (playing and composing) would make a much bigger effect on the brain and its intelligence :p

that's not tetris. that's a lazy kid's cheap knock off tetris. First of all, the piece shouldn't float at the top of the column before it starts to fall. Second, the ghost of the piece removes the need to be skillful in placing the piece AS IT IS FALLING. Finally, when the piece gets to the bottom, it doesn't set for an extra beat. NES tetris worked with a rhythm. When the piece made it to the bottom of the column, it took one beat to set itself. This meant that skill was required to flip the piece and slide it in in ONE BEAT. THIS version of "tetris" gives you all the time in the world to set the piece. It's like someone gives you a bag full of pieces and you pull them out one by one and build your column manually. I'm not impressed by this "accomplishment". Beat Level 9 Height 5 on NES. Then we can talk about skill.

jesus christ i hate these cringy-ass comments "SCOFF, was that SUPPOSED to be difficult? these people know NOTHING of tetris, come back to me when you contact real players LIKE ME BECAUSE I HAVE A BIGGER TETRIS DICK" the accomplishment wasn't to show skill but to show neuroplasticity and how it presents itself in the world, not your pseudo-alpha approval of whether or not this was difficult or real tetris you basement dwelling fuck
@betastrep6 жыл бұрын
There are a number of people who are incredibly skilled at multiple versions of Tetris. NES is not the only one out there, and judging the other versions as being better / worse / harder / easier is missing the point. Also, FWIW, L9 / H5 on B type is not that difficult. I've never played B type until I saw the comment here and decided to give it a go - and successfully completed it on the third attempt. Making it to L20 in the regular game is far more difficult in my view.

The reason, why it isn't fast, is due to many things. such as frame based limitations, tuning limitations, line clear delay, generally bad UI, and of course, the player
