Learning Maya now, after 1 year of Blender. There are some things that are really similar. But the logic and shortcuts were driving me crazy at the beginning. Only scratching the surface of this program for now, but I already see a very capable and crafted software. There’s a reason why the biggest studios still use it and will continue to use it, and it’s not only historical reasons. I also use Houdini for complicated stuff. But the biggest strength of Blender for new artists is that it’s free and you can do so much stuff with it!

Coming from blender, this looks so familiar yet so strange, the way you use the size, move, and rotate handles, the ease of moving into the sub surf modifier, the overall mood is different. Gonna be quite the experience moving over to maya 😅 love the video!

@@articobum3878well it is called the multi cut tool and no it isn't enabled by pressing K, but yes it does the same thing as in blender (just a bit more)

You're gonna love Maya! Maya does everything blender does... just faster including rendering on any machine that can run it. It went from being my learning on the side program to my go to program, now it's my main program and I love how easy everything is to just have a natural flow in it

I love how you used the everyday tools in creative ways! Using the multi cut tool to make wood grains!! Ohh!! I've not thought of that one!! I always thought that maybe I'll just do rocks and wood in sculpting them but this gives a nice play between HSM and OM. Well done either way! Very creative and inspiring, I love it! Keep up the good work (:

Which version of maya? I'm currently thinking of which version to get. I've heard 2020 is the most stable but that 2023, 24 have nice features, 25 is too new to know if it's stable.

Modeling in maya very similar to blender modeling 😮

They have similarities and differences. I prefer maya because its morr visual and less press on 23 different keybinds and box menus for 1 thing you need

Maya is better than blender for modelling and animation. I prefer blender for 3d composition in a live scene
@NEVRStudio28 күн бұрын
@@Random_User190 most professionals working in Maya use 3ds Max for Modeling because is more capable. In professional environments people use different softwares for different things at which the tool is the best at. Usually Maya for animation/rigging, 3ds Max for Modeling, Cinema4D + After Effects for motion design, Houdini for VFX, Nuke/Fusion for compositing and so on.
