As people have said you have a total time hidden that pauses when you get found. Everyone has to hunt once and the person with the most time hidden at the end wins. Locations are determined in advance and spun on a wheel to see who hunts where. I like the reroll prop rule but if you want to try and lessen RNG even more everyone could always get 2 props per round and get to choose between them. If you really wanted to get crazy with it you could have a "confidence" round where each hider gets 1 round where they are so confident in their spot they can use their confidence round and their time hidden counts double. Alternatively if you don't want to do time, you could assign points based on the order found. I.e. Last found gets 5 points, Second last gets 3 points, Third last gets 2 points etc. Confidence doubles.
@oteragard8077 Жыл бұрын
These are exceptionally good ideas
@hohhoch3617 Жыл бұрын
Go with the point system, but instead of confidence just doubling, bet with your points for extra only getting a payout if you're the last to be found, otherwise you lose the amount of points you bet. Example: You bet 3 of your points, you get found last, so you earn 5 points + 3. Alternatively you bet 3 points but get found first, so you earn 1 point - 3, so you actually lose points for the round. Point system also means you don't need to drag out a round when there's only one person left.

competitiveness? random teams/ or a series with teams. 2 seekers 4 hiders (or whomever/ however you can break up the teams) first to find the other team wins. You can add twists pretty easily i feel like. examples: -two sets of gear for a 1v1 (you get to choose the fighter) the winning team gets the better gear. -each team gets to choose a twist option (you can choose if its just 1 that they get, they get to choose between some, or random) so like twists can negatively affect the other team (or your team) or positively affect it. (exampes: each hiding member has to hide within 10 spaces away, the seeker cant run, hiders on the other team have to move one space from their current spot, the hiders on a team get additional rerolls, hints must be given every minute, etc.) I love all your guys videos, i've taken the back seat on rs but still get to enjoy everything watching you all.

Here's an idea to make it competitive (maybe not the best idea but hey it's something, feel free to tweak): 2 people don't hide (they will compete). The rest will hide (let's say 3 people are hiding). The 2 competitors take turns searching the same area, trying to find the 3 props as fast as possible. They don't move when they've been found, because when the first person finds the last one, the timer stops, and the other person enters the area to see if they can find all 3 faster. This way it will be fair for the 2 competitors, because it's the same area with the same props in the same locations. I guess it could work. Only problem I see is that the second competitor may have to wait quite a few minutes which is boring for them.
@SupachargedGaming Жыл бұрын
Same idea, but instead of them racing to find everyone... given there's 3 people.. whoever finds 2 first?

some simple competitive ideas, which could be mixed and matched. 1.) time the seekers, lowest at the end of the episode is best seeker. 2.) time how long the hiders are hidden, then add the rounds up, highest time is the best hider overall. 3.) the worst hider on a given round gets an extra re-roll on the next. the best hider can't use their re-roll the next round. 4.) Give the seeker a time limit, and at certain time intervals the hiders must give hints or some form of taunt. 5.) Make it a team game. There's six of you, so three teams of two could compete in the above score rounds. At the end of the episode, you could do some form of punishment for the loser decided by the winners, like Impractical Jokers. Love the videos Jimmy!

In the GMod prop-hunt there's a mechanic that makes you lose health if you shoot props that aren't actually players, insentiving players to not pray and spray at everything they see. I see a lot of people just stepping and left-clicking on everything here. Implementing some kind of penalty/limited ability to prop check, alongside a timer, might be a good idea to make things more 'competitive'. A reward of sorts could be good as well. Either something game-related like a prop winning gets +2 rerolls for their next round as a prop while a hunter winning gets like +5 rerolls, or something more valuable like a winners purse of gp (or cash if your pals are up for it, though I imagine real cash being on the line might devolve things into a very no-fun-allowed sorta vibe).
@Kakodoyo111 Жыл бұрын
Besides the obvious 'hiders start with a timer that ticks up that stops counting when they get found, and after a full round the one with the most time wins' similar to how smallant does his mario hide and seek, maybe you could give extra points based on how terrible of an object you are and how well you hid. Like the ectofuntus in flavor is better than the sunglasses. Love the content! Keep it coming jimb0

Hey! First of all, what a fantastic idea, this series is what introduced me to the fantastic world of OSRS content creation. For the competitive side: Your Prop Hunt reminds me a lot of the Mario Odyssey Hide & Seek mod, played by SmallAnt and other content creators. It's obviously not exactly the same, but one thing that you could import from them is hints! Divide each Prop Hunt map into a 10x10 grid. Then, every 3 minutes (or whatever time period you choose), every hider has to answer a question, which can include: - Top or bottom half of the map; - Left or right half of the map; - Inside or outside a building; - Row or column (later in the game); As for score, time spent hidden seems like a good enough score system.

A few fun ideas. Create a point system, based on how long it takes to find you. Also have other tasks in a location I.E. swap prop after deciding on a location, moving while hunter is near, making a bow from nearby trees. Hunter score goes down if they ask for hints/directions. Props can call in support, either for real clues to other props or fake clues about them, force a hunter to go buy a drink and drink it at the bar, or decoy props. Everyone gets one prop swap, but they can also use it on another prop instead.

For competitive you could draw out several boundaries for different areas and “pull them out of a hat”, have one person hiding at a time, they get to pick what their prop is but it can’t be any prop that already exists in that zone, and then all the others try to find them, the player that goes longest without being found during their turn to hide wins!
@callumadams4133 Жыл бұрын
thoughts for scoring: Points scored for order in which people are found, but then also points scored for how well your object was hidden based upon difficulty. so more points hard objects hidden well, less for easy objects. one reroll per scene and maybe a limit on what the numbers are to exclude objects which cannot fit anywhere. also see if plugin creator can fix that random spawn after other objects. as seen with flutten as the cellar stairs on the last round.

to add competition. seekers are on a time limit. every person the seeker finds adds time. if you are a seeker and win you get a or a couple rerolls next time theyre hiders. to add, the last hider to be found gets a reroll. or the people collectively that do not get found get rerolls. and or you can do high risk worlds. to add the element of random people coming up to KO you. adds a element of more seekers if unlucky

Competition idea: set a timer and base that timer on previous recording sessions. I.E. if the longest hunt took 25 minutes, that timer works. You get 25 points for each person you find within the first minute, 24 for second minute, etc. Conversely you get 10 points if you are never found as a prop, 5 minutes if you last half the duration. Person with the most points wins your Prairie dog. With a prize that good, everyone will take this seriously.

I'm not familar with the plugin so this might be more work than it's worth but my suggestion would be to create lists of objects bso for example a list of 'Level 1' objects like chairs and easy-to-hide models, 'Level 2' slightly harder up to the more ridiculous ones. You can do a random roll within whatever list you want and get more points for choosing a more difficult list. Scoring I assume would be based on when you're found and there could be a bonus point for each level of difficult you've gone up; 5 points for being the last found with a 'level 1' model, 6 for 2, 7 for 3 etc

For an Idea to make it more competitive you can do "Total time hidden" so have a clock start running when the seeker starts and stop when found and start again next round and so on. So once everyone becomes a seeker thats a "round" or video and the winner is the one with the most time. and you can edit the player heads with their times to make it an easier visual. It will depend on the hider to stop their timer when they feel that they have been found.

Absolutely love watching you guys do prop hunt. Idea for a competitive version: All hiding is done in one area and hiders get one roll per round hiding. Hiders will earn points based on the order they are found, 1 point for first found, 2 for second found etc. For searchers I think the only "balanced" way for points involves everyone searching but think that would make for a long ass video (which I would love but get that it's not practical) so maybe whoever wins a round searches for next round with searchers getting mid points by default and roll for who searches first?

*IDEA* -- Invite 20-50 people from the community (discord, reddit, etc) and get everyone to hide on a specific location. -- They have 2-5 minutes to hide and they can re-roll as much as they want, as long as they're not abusing props that are impossible to find (reason is that it would be too hard to monitor cheating from randos if you only allow 1-3 rolls, so this makes it easier and more fun) Then, 2 options: 1) You guys all hunt and see who can find more people in 5 minutes or so 2) Only 1 hunter per location and then in the end you guys can see who found more people in their 5 minutes Obviously, tweak as needed lol. Just an idea that I had :) cheers! Love the content.

If you want a points system, X points every minute seems like the way to go, and seekers can spend points for various types of hints. On top of that, you can score specific items which are out of place or easily recognized with a multiplier, so maybe scale to 1.5x, 2x, 3x, and so on. I would also introduce an auction system for props--starting from least points and going up, a player rolls their model and then has the option to "sell" it and its multiplier to the highest bidder. Play like a round robin where everyone seeks once and then highest points wins.

Ideas for fun/competitiveness: 1. On a random round, get everyone to hide in the same room. The hunter will never expect everyone to be in the same place. 2. If the hunter steps within 10 tiles of someone without seeing them, once the hunter leaves the area, the person must reroll and is NOT allowed to relocate. This will hopefully lead to hilarious out of place objects. 3. One person randomly rolls, and everyone else copies the same prop. Everyone hides in different locations and the last to be found wins. 4. Only one person hides, but they get to choose their own prop. Everyone else tries to hunt them. Repeat this for every person, and the person who survived longest without being found wins. To make it not impossible, every 3 mins, the hider must declare which half of the permitted area they are in. After a further 3 mins, it halves again, I.e a quarter of the original map. 5. A zombie round. Everyone must secretly randomly roll on different worlds and get into position. Once into position, everyone logs into the same world. Nobody knows who or where anyone else is. (You might log in next to someone but it would be funny). Once someone is found, they become 'infected' and join the hunter in trying to find the other props. 6. A speed trial in a small area. The hunter must be poisoned and has until they die from poison to find everyone. Obviously no food allowed and a small area to make it possible to find everyone.

Hey Jimmy, love the energy of this series! I have an idea for a silly goofy game mech. You could let everyone move once during the round, but they have to switch to a massive/obvious object while they do it.

I like the content man! Good watch. The best way to make it competitive is to add hiding timers to the rounds. At the end of the video the one that stayed hidden for the longest will win.

Jimmy I love these videos man. You guys are all great and the game is perfect. One thing, would it be possible to see what the boundaries are when you guys are looking for spots or hunting? Maybe before each round show what the limits are? Ok...I got to 10:32 and I see now it would have spoiled a gag. I guess that's why you're the creator!
