Great break down, Bois. Gotta split the brain cell again! Love this tune - probably my favourite on the album. Lyrically slaps with some fierce instrumental! Glad you got to this one! Cheers, fellas 🤘

(I Want To See) Oka Everywhere kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJPTk4WXa9mNqZo is a 1994 song by Propagandhi. It's a young punk attempt at saying what Chris Hannah says with a bit more nuance and sophistication than he had in his early 20's. Honestly, I'm not sure which song I like better.

Nicely done Joel! Brain cell to you my friend for sure. This track is definitely satirical in nature and from the viewpoint of someone who we might consider “racist-lite”, but racist all the same. Chris starts off by paraphrasing quotes from a 1992 article by Christopher Hitchens about why the anti-Columbus movement is wrong. Hitchens was a divisive figure once considered a darling of progressives, but due to his contrarian nature became more and more revered by the right. Chris then goes on to draw parallels between what is happening to our present day non-white communities and what happened to the indigenous communities that were here before us.

Yep, you nailed it. In terms of Propagandhi songs this one is uncharacteristically straightforward. Some could call it broad or simplistic, but I think that’s unfair because these conversations happen all the time, and the parallels are so obvious, and yet denied or downplayed by many.
