I don't think you should totally stop trying to branch out on your youtube when you come up with a different idea for a video. You nailed it, it's Toxoplasmosis. Most people have already been exposed to it but if you're exposed to the first time while you're pregnant, it is very very bad for the fetus. (I am microbiologist hi)

How can we know if we've been exposed though? I'm not pregnant but I'm curious now. I could also google but it's so nice to actually have conversations. Even through youtube comments lol
@jena91734 жыл бұрын
@@supergabee I believe there is an antibody test but I don't know how regularly it's done. Generally, they just say pregnant women should avoid digging in soil or changing cat litter.
@Daliena3 жыл бұрын
@@supergabee have no idea where the soil thing came from..... toxoplasmosis spreads by cat feces, contaminated water, undercooked game meat. You also have to injest the parasite to become infected. So if a cat pooped outdoors, you stuck your hand into the poo soil then ate food with dirty hands - you ll become infected. Otherwise the soil is just fine to use - especially the potting soil from bags. Just wear gloves when cleaning litter boxes, wash hands after, wash all produce well, cook meat properly, especially game meat. And you won't get infected. Pregnant women are more impacted as the parasite affects the baby. But all people can be infected, many are and do not know it :). Hope this was helpful.
