Good morning! I love zinnias. Thank you for sharing the propagation. I am in Traverse City, zone 5b. Our weather is so tempermental & hard to forecast ..we were lows of 40's at night into low 50's at high during the day to 90 with humidity for this past weekend & this week. My poor plants have no idea what they should be doing 😂.. I love your channel. Always informative & your stunning garden reflects your knowledge & love of gardening.

What a wonderful way to increase zinnias, especially since Floret seeds are so expensive. I did not grow the Floret zinnia and celosia seeds I bought this year, I ran out of time, so I will definitely try this method next year. Love your channel! Cheers from Alberta, Canada!

this is so exciting🌸I really want to try this! I have some beautiful Zinnias this year. I have a really short variety that I didn’t realize were going to be short. I think I will take cuttings from them and then grow them in pots where I can see them. Thanks Danielle🤗

They will still grow this late in the season ? Awesome !

I just dead head my zinnias in the Fall, save the seeds, and scatter them in Spring. I get a bumber crop every year, without cloning, etc ❤

That's a solid result. Fabulous pup too❤😂

Hi Danielle-are there any “copyright “ limitations on seeds? I know that we are not supposed to propagate Proven Winners plants, for instance. Are the rules different for seeds?
@NorthlawnFlowerFarmandGardens2 ай бұрын
Hi friend! There is no patent on this plant. ❤️

Can you over winter the cuttings in a greenhouse?
@NorthlawnFlowerFarmandGardens2 ай бұрын
Yes. They would bloom in a heated greenhouse.
@aolson81852 ай бұрын
Hi Danielle! Such an awesome video. I am wondering why you propagate them in full shade. Would morning sun work too? Or is full shade important for the root development?
@NorthlawnFlowerFarmandGardens2 ай бұрын
Hi friend! I prefer full shade outside while they are rooting because it’s less stressful on the cutting. The more sun a cutting with no roots receives the faster it will lose water from the leaves. These cuttings often fail. You could also place the cuttings under lights inside. I normally do that but my lighting system is full at the moment.
@aolson81852 ай бұрын
Thanks for the scoop, Danielle! Less stress for the cuttings makes sense.

Great results! After growing them on your covered porch for what will be 3+ weeks, will you not need to harden them off?
@NorthlawnFlowerFarmandGardens2 ай бұрын
Hi friend! I’m planning to plant them out next week when the weather is expected to be overcast and rainy for many days. If I planned to plant them directly into full, hot sun I would take a few days to gradually acclimate them to the sun on the porch. I hope you have a great day!
