I have a GSD. The problem, I think, with the belt drive and hub gear is when you get a rear puncture it's going to need a shop. The GSD flips up onto its end which makes removing the rear wheel much easier than imagined. But with a belt drive and even a hub gear it's a bit trickier to remove than with a rear mech.
@Propelbikes5 жыл бұрын
This is a great point. Some hub gears are easier to remove than others, but once you get the hang of it it’s not so bad. I think you will have a similar benefit, but maybe not quite as quick. It will be a bit cleaner to not have to fuss with the greasy chain though.

I think the "step through" frame feature is a cool feature! The big leg swing mount action gets a bit of a drag at times. Cheers.

We have a video of the accessories coming soon, but unfortunately, it's not too detailed on the front bag. I will see if we can do one on the laptop bags in the future as I don't have them in the shop and they aren't available yet to my understanding. We just borrowed them for a bit from Tern for this video.

Hello, I finally bought a beautiful HSD! I'm very happy! I bought a lot of accessories! and luckily I managed to find the last two Bigmouths on a Dutch site! it's really a shame that you have chosen to replace them with Cargohold panniers, because Bigmouths are much more comfortable and make the experience of using the HSd much more beautiful: I go into the supermarket with Bigmouths and at the checkout I fill them with all my shopping, I mount them on the bike and go home! and once I arrive I bring all my shopping directly to the house! fantastic! please, I beg you, think again and propose them again because there is no comparison: the bags must be detachable! W le BIGMOUTH, W TERN, W HSD! Hi Giovanni

so many questions about that passenger kit! thanks for keeping us updated Chris. I can't help but wonder what the passenger weight range will be, and if the bike will still be able to stand up on its rear end with the passenger kit attached...
@Propelbikes5 жыл бұрын
I think you’re not alone. I’ll try an publish something as soon as more info will be available. On a simple level it could just be pegs a pad and stoker bars. The GSD Sidekick bars and seat technically fit but there are no foot pegs. The weight capacity should be the same at ~130lbs.
@Propelbikes5 жыл бұрын
I just got an update. It seems the passenger kit will be available in the spring and it will include foot supports, back support, seat pad and wheel guards.

would the rear rack be able to adapt to a monkey bar system or something similar for older kids that outgrow the yepp maxi? thank you.

They will release a passenger kit by summer 2020. Ir should be good for one kid as this bike is designed to carry one child.

@@Propelbikes Thats great to hear thank you. Another question, how do you think 50NM would fair against a 12% incline for about 600ft with a passenger and cargo load of around 300lbs. I know im getting into specifics but this is a once in a lifetime purchase.
@Propelbikes5 жыл бұрын
I think if you might want to adjust the gearing or opt for the GSD S00 if you’re going to consistently carry the extra load.

Second battery capability and gen 4 motor (like Benno) and they got it!
@philipk44754 жыл бұрын
You can just put a second battery in the bags and switch when the first gets empty. It's not such a big deal. Far more important, imo, would be better lighting, a double sided kick stand for more stability, and yes, the cargo line motor for those sweet 85 Nm

@@Propelbikes can the HSD s+ be used when battery is dead like most e bikes? also are the motors on these a bit out dated now? if so should I wait for another bike? also what is with the NBD 5 speed? that bike hub is worst right, I don't really understand that hub vs the others. took me a long to to understand and research internal hubs but I couldn't find much on the 5 speed that is on the new one coming out also are the higher quality parts on these easier to maintenance and do yourself vs old stuff? If there is a part you can think of which one and how hard is it? I want to replace my car so I can save money in long run since I don't drive far in the city and since I feel I could learn to fix my bike for most part vs a car which is a bit harder Not sure if I should also wait for the possibly E-Bike Tax Credit also

Another excellent review from you. Thank you! Leaving aside the exceptional ideas in this bike (vertical standing, folding, etc ...), How does this bike compared to the R&M Multicharger Mixte? You rode them both. Which one would you say is better in terms of riding comfort?
@Propelbikes5 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! I’m glad you’ve been enjoying the videos. Generally a larger wheel will give you an easier time rolling over things so I guess you would have a slightly higher rider comfort in the Multicharger. If you put a Kinect seatpost on both they will have a similar ride feel.
@Brandon-xp1ob4 жыл бұрын
Agreed. These bikes are made to replace your car so $3200 is a great trade off if you're saving on money otherwise doesn't on car expenses. I wish I had a shed full of different bikes.

Thanks! I haven't made a video with it, but the HSD would be my preference since it's electric. Having electric extends the capabilities of a cargo bike significantly from my perspective.

This is a very nice bicycle... If they install a belt-guard, and make a more adjustable hand bar(to allow low height), it would be near perfect. And I wisht there were a 24" version.

Nice vid as always, do you plan to make a video review of the HSD S+ model anytime soon? I really hesitate between the HSD and the GSD, I had the chance to try the hsd P9 here in Paris, and this bike is so great, I’m gonna try the gsd soon to see the differences, but the hsd s+ seems to be so cool.. I’d like to see a review of it from you 🙏🏼

Thank you! What do you think of the new HSD?
@peeknic5 жыл бұрын
@@Propelbikes I love that it comes with suspension. The GSD's handlebar vibrates too much to my taste. The front wheel is smallish and so close on the vertical under the steering "tube". It would be interesting to know if the HSD suspension fork can be used in the GSD. Do you know if the bottom bracket is lower than in the GSD? I also ride an Urban Arrow and with the same distance from the seat to pedal (to stretch my leg), I can barely reach the floor when stopping with the GSD. I believe it would be a huge advantage to lower that bottom bracket thus making it better for female riders.
@Propelbikes5 жыл бұрын
@@peeknic I totaly understand what you're saying. You could also lower the tire pressure a bit on the GSD, but the suspension will really make a difference. You won't be able to fit the HSD fork on the GSD though, unfortunately. For this other point, the difference is the angle of the seat tube. Urban Arrow has a much more relaxed geometry which moves the saddle back and consequently, you are able to touch the ground and still get a full extension because the pedals are more forward. In theory, you could achieve a similar result with a setback seatpost. Thompson makes one which would work. We haven't done this sort of swap before, but it would definitely help with what you're talking about.
