Not familiar with turbo props. But in turbo fans, its called Rotor Bow . It happens when the Engine is started to idle thrust immediately after start, which causes the rotor to bow or bend due to the sudden increase in thermodynamic load. To alleviate that condition, a phenomenon called cooling period is embedded into the EEC of the Engine which makes the Engine to run on starter for an extended time( for example, earlier PW1100 Series Engines had a much much longer cool off period than it is now) thereby increasing the temperature condition inside the core and the n2 shafts and extending the Engine life.

Had to laugh. Topic is Turboprop engines, yet it feels like nearly half of the short takes of aircraft are of piston engine aircraft. Know your aircraft, and their engines. There are more piston engines driving propellers than there are turboprop engines.
