Proper Anchor Point In Archery | Don't Do This!

I shot with my thumb behind my neck for my first season. No bueno. This is the best description I’ve seen on KZbin when it comes to describing a good anchoring position for the wrist release. I wish I had seen this a looong time ago.

Yup. Confirming what I’ve known all summer…. My draw length is set too long…. I push my index knuckle under my ear lobe. I can shoot good groups, and the extra velocity doesn’t hurt…. But for consistency I need to make an adjustment…. Y’all wanna sell me some Triax mods?

I've always found putting my thumb back there messes with my line of sight, pushing against my neck, and it'll be different with a coat and gloves on. Lot of other anchor points that don't change regardless of what I'm wearing.

Tell that to Camron Haynes. Seems to work wonders for him. He shoots more consistent n precise then anyone out there, damn near.

@@dylanrodriguez2520 you watch the video? @camhanes is an amazing shot no doubt! You must not know much about us if you don’t understand our respect for one of that best Bowhunters of all time. Same reason he reps our shirts in his videos or has our camchains sticker on his truck. That being said, as stated in our video, we do not teach that anchor point.

What does what I said say anything about if u like him or not. That is a mute point, honestly. U said clearly that to pretty much not to do that because of the reasons u state, right. Ok; and I said that that is not true n gave u an example of one. It’s crazy how personal people take things on here. The whole reason I even said anything was because what if someone is a brand new archer n that anchor point for whatever reason just happens to click for them. But, after reading ur comments they said. Nope I can’t shoot like that because Korbins Archery said not to cause it’s this or that. And, the reason they listen is cause u have a platform n I am sure ur a well respected person in the archery community, right. U must b cause u know Cam, right. Point being threw this whole speal is what u said was ur “OPINIONS” not fact. Can we agree on that? And, someone of ur stature should just simple be careful cause if someone didn’t know any better then, well u c what I mean. Thanks

I saw Cam Hanes doing this one time with the finger behind the neck and I thought that was good idea. Like you said the problem is that you won’t have a consistent area to pace your thumb and it will always move and I always had inconsistent shots. It may work for Cam but it doesn’t work for me.

Cam is an excellent shot. He practices every day and builds consistency that way. You are right it works for some but not all
