Do you find that the Milwaukee is easier to use for you than the Hanna salinity checker? I am assuming that it may be more accurate than the Hanna checker.

No, for me the Hanna is the best now that I have the Tropic Marin Hydrometer I can make my own standards. I bought the Milwaukee cause I like gadgets.

Its odd that your device reads on calibration 1.000 and mine reads just 0. Shouldn't they all on calibration read just 0 rather than 1.000?

Well it is a refractometer and the index of pure water is 1.000

@@lkapitan8232 I made Randy's DIY 35ppt solution and the refractometer read it 35ppt so I'd assume that the device reads correct value. 3.65 sodium chloride mixed with 96.35mls of distilled water. - Test solution. When I calibrate my device with distilled water,it reads 0 value .

@@estonianreefer2851 That's great that it works. To make standards I bought the Tropic Marin Precision Hydrometer and it works great, although extremely fragile. Under normal temperatures of a house it cannot be wrong and I use it all the time.

Do you mean it reads the 1.025 standard as 1.021, or that it's reading your saltwater was 1.021?

Funny i just got brand new one and it was 1.026 out of box

@@lkapitan8232 Brand new used bottles it came with, I have some hanna calibration solution so ill test that maybe the salt is out or maybe i didnt shake it enough

@@lkapitan8232 Just checked Reef2reef and all had same results said dont use the Reference salt its useless.. Aslong as its consitant i can live with it out little
