A tip (that doesn't just apply here) for when you're moving parts from main stage to within a symbol. Copy them (don't cut) from main stage and then you'll be able to see exactly where to place them in your symbol. After placement you can delete from main stage.

The Minish Cap, the best Zelda top down game. I will probably be attacked by A Link to the Past fans. But be objective dudes. Come on! It adds a new villain to the series, it has a great color design, it has an epic hat, you get the shrinking Link dynamic and you get that insanely nice soundtrack. It is probably one of those Zelda that deserves to get the WInd Waker style 3d port. Thanks for doing this theme. xD it's my main watch reason, just seeing Minish Link in HD is super win

I have a question! Let's say I want to make a character rig for a specific character in most major viewing angles (profile, front view, back view, 3/4, etc.) Do I make a whole character rig from scratch per view? or do I separate the body parts into separate frames inside the symbols of the body parts themselves? (ie: the "torso" symbol has the turnaround for the torso body part only) Would love to hear your thoughts on this! Love the channel as always.

Forward kinematics is available in the free version. Inverse kinematics (that is, the end of a chain being able to move its parents) is premium only.

First, I must say I LOVE your channel! I knew absolutely nothing, and am now trying to make an animation. Loads of fun! I did run into a problem that I can't figure out and am hoping you can direct me. I'm following your instructions, copying this tutorial, and am in the "Inverse Kinematics" section. The problem is that I seem to have locked the hips. Everything is moving like it should, except that I can't lower my character towards the ground because the hips seem to be locked. Do you know what I did wrong -- or what I should change or do???? Thanks again for your fabulous teaching.

@@jooniethebest3709 Welp guys, its been a year, but i only got to this tutorial now :)) Just try setting the transformation pont to where it should be with the transformation tool, and dont forget to hit ctrl+t after to set the registration pont to the same point as transformation point. hope it helps!

Curious to know how this type of rigging affects characters with line work, I have issue with the elbow, knee and shoulders where I have breaks in the lines or too much overlapping lines in the joints.

They did have a great way to live adjust linework on moving limbs, that they showed me, but animate is so badly coded it lagged to hell if your timeline was longer than 100 frames or so. Not sure if they've made any further progress on it

Hello! I downloaded a flanimate character model to test and saw your tutorial. When I separate a body part and want it to rejoin it, the tilde key shortcut doesn't work. I don't know if it's the Portuguese keyboard and the key would be another. Is there another way to see the magnetic rigg working?

You can use the magnet command from the menu or the EDAPT Commands panel, or change the shortcut if ~ does not work.

Animate it how you want, then duplicate the keyframes so you've still got a full tween, and switch the symbols around.

hi! thank you for this new super well built tutorial ... I downloaded the free setup to see if it worked before buying the pack ... but it seems it seems it only settled down halfway .. indeed I have some extensions (SGC1 ...) but not as many as on your screen and in the end after having created a character I cannot access the control panel or the button with the small chain .. .is it because i have the free version? or is it an installation problem? ... I work with Animate 2021 (not even a crack) on a 2018 IMac... Sorry to bother you with my questions but that tool look so cool!

Hey, all of the IK stuff is Premium, but you should have the kineflex tool, try uninstalling and downloading again, there are comprehensive help tutorials on their website :)
