Love the engineering aspect to this . Explained lots of oiling questions I had and how to properly size my systems. Thank you.

I bought a 03 Zo6 after GRM started the C5 Zo6 project car and would love to see the install of the Improved Racing oil pan baffles. It is on my to do list before this seasons track days.

Michael left a set with us, so you'll be getting your wish fairly soon :)

Did you guys ever do an install video for the baffles? Tackling this project this weekend.

With the use of R134a refrigerants, GM switch to extruded cores in the condenser with an inch wide (25.4mm) it contains 12 square holes to help extract latent heat. The end tanks can have sealed block-off plates making the refrigerant cross 2 or 3 times before returning to the suction line. This goes back into the 90’s. My question comes with the oil pan mounting of the thermostatic block a mine simple has a supply and return. Without tracing the circuit, I would I am guessing the forward is from the oil pump and return or back hole goes into the oil filter cavity. I am new to the “LS” engine family as I did have any to work on at the Buick dealer in the late 90’s. Also, not a slam or bad feelings, but having a block on an engine stand would be an easy visual aid. As for this episode, I would be guessing your guest is from “Improved Racing?” At least it in the title, but his jacket logo was so small I would need a microscope, any Banners or Signs on the shelves behind you guys in the shop. Contact info, phone number, website? Look, at 63 I have lost hearing after 38+ years in a dealership shop and due to joint issues in am forced into retirement and it don’t pay well. iPhone 6 is all I got and have to use corded ear plugs to hear. 5 dead laptops including MacBook Air. Maybe I can find your guest, company and products on the internet, perhaps show notes? Certified Automotive ASE Master Tech since 1978 - Retired

I have a stroke LS 416 I’m having problems with the oil going above 200° with that being said my oil psi pressure tends to drop a little bit below 30 psi roughly 27 to 26 psi once it gets above 200° do you think this will solve my problem

I think from the video your oil temps are in range, but pressure, if measured by a mechanics gauge would confirm or show you something different. Using a higher viscousity oil would be one quick way of seeing a change under your build, design and how you use it. A lot of variables but start with a good gauge reading and don’t trust a temp reading with a non-contact digital thermometer reading. Inside is where is counts and before any cooler. Hope this helps! If they are going to use the GRM z06 to develop the kit, they have to keep in mind that car does not have the stock air dam, not sure how that would affect the design.
@Grassrootsmotorsports5 жыл бұрын
Yeah we discussed that, and also the fact that we're doing headers soon. When we take them the car we'll be providing all the stock pieces as well so they can get a feel for how those are arranged and if they can integrate those into their install.

@@Grassrootsmotorsports Well my car has long tube headers so might not be a bad idea to have them develop it with long tubes lol. But yeah thats something to look out for also since where the bypass is installed becomes very cluttered if you have long tube headers.
