Never jack on rear diff, jack point is on the cross member just behind diff. Good vid otherwise🤙

Ive worked on thousands of cars and never had a problem with jacking on BMW diffs. Its just the diff cover you have to be careful of sometimes.

@@stick6860 Diff is a bad idea, you're transferring pressure onto bushings that aren't meant to hold that much weight. When those bushings are hot, they deform easily and get ruined. Cross member's the way to go.

almost every bmw (and other makes) can be jacked via the diff. The only one widely discouraged from jacking the rear there is the E46.

What year is the car? I have a 2020 (G20 chassis) 330i and have conflicting info on center jack point. Looking for definite answer.

I dont know specifically for the new 3 series chassis, but being able to jack on the front subframe (the front center jack point) has been a staple of BMW's for 40 years and they haven't changed much of the layout in that time. I doubt they started now.

I wouldn't be comfortable getting under a car on stands like that. I use Esco jack stands with a BMW jack pad adapter. The Esco's have a large pad to sit on.
