Property clean up with the Craftsman GT6000 garden tractor

This is a follow up video to our very first video. Today we clear a new area of brush and saplings with the Craftsman GT6000. I will also spend some time getting what we cut on earlier stacked and ready for the chipper.

I’ve got a gt6000 I got with the farm I just bought have grass that’s like hay or some other type of grass weeds some areas it does well but with every pass I have long hays and such that it won’t cut. Wonder if the blades need sharpening or maybe it just can’t handle the job. The mower is from 2013 I think doubt anyone’s ever serviced the blades 292 hours on the machine

If they have never been serviced, then it definitely would not hurt to sharpen, or even replace them. I haven't run into any length of grass that the mower won't cut. It is very simple to change the blade (only one bolt per blade). They are only about $30 - $40 for all three. Amazon has a 6 pack of them for $58 right now. I am confident that you would see a major difference in cutting. Since I have been cutting small saplings and heavy brush, I have to service mine at least once a year. Sometimes more often. @@DevaultFamilyLiving I will definitely buy new blades do you have a link to the Amazon listing us saw? Front what I see there is a star blade hole design and than a regular circle hole design not sure which blade design I need to get for the mounting hole. But than again I can remove a blade and I’ll find out that way too. Thanks for your help!

​@@el_jeepo​here is the factory Part #187256 for my mower. However the best thing to do is go on searspartsdirect.com and enter your exact model number. Should be a sticker on the rear fender assembly under the rear seat. Will be something like 917288613 (possibly). That will give you a blow up of all the parts for your tractor. Blades are listed in the mower deck section. That will give you the factory part number for your blades. Copy that part number into the Amazon search.
