I'm going to show you how to use poly mod in your pads to add dirt, simulate a stereo filter, and create other wild modulations that actually sound pretty tasteful.
All the music in this video was created using a Prophet 6.

The matriarch was sold and P6, has arrived. I really this like this tutorial and am rewatching your others. I can tell how comfortable you are with what your synth has to offer, just by seeing how fast you go to turn all the knobs and create all these different effects. I can't wait to understand this machine more, and know where to look and what I can look for when creating sounds. I am super fascinated whenever you mention Warm and Cool tones. I also paint and always weave in the arts philosophies with my music, but haven't yet thought about warm and cool tones with sound design. Awesome!

Yes! I think about warm and cold tones all the time and find it very useful! It’s a useful way of thinking about reverbs and delays too

I like your channel man, keep goin' on! I have some question for you..i have a sledge 2.0 and i try to simulate a square pad from one of your video..not the nirvana pad, but the other in the modulation trick that i think is a square filtered pad, right? But there is a problem, the square on my synthetizer sounds like a shit..also trying with pulse width it sound so bad, the high note are very terrible it seems like a game boy..i have trying with cutoff to put down all that shitty sound but also the cutoff is terrible Am i doing the wrong thing or is that synth a waste of money? I am an audiophile and i have an home studio like yours, but with guitar and bass things, only that yellow synth..i don't know if i waste my money I like so much the p6 but it cost so much.. Sorry for my english i'm italian ...i want to say i'm not new to synthetizers, i use them a lot in plugin form

Hey, the sledge sounds pretty good, I've used it before and I liked it. Square waves are a tough one. I feel like the biggest difference between real analog and virtual analog oscillators shows in square waves. I'd recommend always modulating the pulse width if you use a square wave on it. That will get rid of some of the game boy sound. Also never open up the filter past 10k. But the sledge really shines when you play huge chords... more than 6 notes at a time. If that's not your style then your audiophile tendencies might not be satisfied by it. The Korg Prologue is a midpoint between the sledge and the p6, that's what I'd suggest if you want audiophile-quality sound on a tight budget.

I like every stile of music not only chords or solo, just music Let's talk about the prologue..you give me a really good advice! It sounds good! Always fat and shiny, really good i like it Maybe the sledge have more possibility with modulation and aftertouch, but i think with multi layering i can do the same things Also i felt in love with korg a couple years ago when i found an old esx1..the two tubes, wow..i found a trick with that drum that consist on use a bass synth (usally like a string synth or raw) in band pass mode and send it to output 3 with a bass drum kick, now use an high distortion pedal (mxr fullbore metal) and send all to the input of the Korg, compress a lot..man, killer destroying and controlled sound here, but i bet you can do better ahahah Thanks for the advice and all the good stuff in your channel

Thanks! I haven’t decided yet. I suppose a pack of 20 leads would be the next logical step. Anything you’d like in particular?
