Finally got financing for training, starting next week and I’m so pumped!! Thanks for all the inspiration guys I really appreciate it.

if you don't mind me asking, who did you finance with?
@jmann066 ай бұрын
Meritize. I tried initially for ATP. But Sallie mea nor Meritize would fund it. Checked out a 141 and meritize funded right away. So, not to sure why.maybe because the 141 is WAY cheaper or if it’s because it’s 141.

Sporty’s does generate an instructor sign-off certificate after passing two practice tests with at least an 80% score.

Never pay for your own type, they are absolutely correct. Any 135 that won't pay for your own training isn't worth working for.
@jefftatlow93306 ай бұрын
I did the sportys for private ground school. Yes when done with the course and you pass 2 of their practice test with 80 plus you get the cert so you can go take the test. Around $400 for the kit that includes flight bag and all the books you need.

In Turkey you pay for your type rating even at the flag carrier and it costs more than if you get a type rating yourself. They make you sign a loan agreement so that you pay them back in installments. It takes them up to a year to organise a base check. Nowadays they hire inexperienced but type rated candidates (oncl. zero hours). It costs less, you complete faster.

Just checked out the Delta Academy. Sounded great till I read they won't take you if you hold a private or even a sport license.

Always enjoy when a new video drops! Found out I’m in the same flight club with a guy named Jake Washburn who used to fly with Sean a few times. Truly a small world!

Hey Shaun, Sean here... Yup, Jake's a good guy, He flew with me several times in the Premier jet.

@@ProPilotPlaybook He is indeed. He suggested your podcast one night when I told him I had an upcoming interview with a 135 op to help prepare. I told him I’d been watching and using your program since I started training. Offering a helping hand at the airport to a stranger on a cold day turned into an interview for flying ERJ 145s. Keep up the work guys!

You guys uploaded this video right on time for me I had just the same question about paying a type rating out of pocket. Thanks guys, really valuable info

Hello! I'm interested in understanding how your playbook translates to the European aviation landscape, especially for individuals looking to thrive in the 2.0. Currently, I'm working towards obtaining my Private Pilot License (PPL), and my ground school advises continual payment for flight hours by renting aircraft to meet the requirements for a commercial license. I'm curious to hear your perspective on this approach.

So i can complete ppl cpl and instrument written tests before signing up for classes? That would save me a lot of time with the instructor thats for sure.

I just flew with someone who flew only as a medevac before getting hired at SWA so it’s possible to skip the regionals. The only time a type rating made sense was when SWA required it before. Flow throughs programs may make sense because they will have priority over off the street as hiring slows down.

Second guy is clueless, you won't be a 135 PIC at 500 hours....not even 1500. You aren't getting hired at a legacy at 1500 TT either.
@micclay6 ай бұрын
Yea. It' say on the delta academy website they'll expect you to spend 42 months at a regional before hiring you as a 1st officer.
@martystern56436 ай бұрын
Exactly… we all would like PIC turbine time at 500 hours but doesn’t means it’s realistic

You have to pass the written before you can solo. And you are correct. Sportys gives you a certificate to take the written after passing 3 of their practice tests with an 80% or better.
@kevinbaslee32626 ай бұрын
You do not have to pass the private pilot knowledge test before you solo. You have to take a pre solo knowledge test which is just a test made by your flight school or CFI.

Just a note on the pilot mills. I got 7 ratings in 6 months through a 0-hero program. I came as prepared as possible with all writtens completed. However I was pushed through a very strict timeline and ended up with 4 Checkride fails. Any advice on what my future holds?

7 ratings in 6 months seems like such a tight time frame. For me it’s 6 in 10 months
