a 14 year old girl proposing marriage to a man in his mid to late 30's? the man telling her will see when she's 17? gives her a kiss on the cheek and a sexy wink?....don't know if such a scene could be done today?

Why is it people can't just enjoy things? Everything old has to have some sort of comment about how it couldn't be made today. This show takes place in the 1800s where such marriages were common, so this is just realistic. Also, there's nothing wrong with this scene. The girl has a crush but is too young, so the man says he'll return when she's older and had more time to understand her feelings. After a kiss on the cheek, he goes on his way. This is merely an example of an adult respecting the child's feelings and understanding that she's still a little girl. Not some pedophile planning to groom a child.
