SharpGrade Laser Grader on PT70 operating with wheels retracted

SharpGrade 2.2DGR Laser Grader fitted to a Terex PT70 operating with the wheels retracted.
Note how much more maneuverable it makes the unit. It is particularly evident when working in a cut area below ground level for rib raft floor preparation.
This allows the sub-grade layers to be quickly and efficiently trimmed to the correct height, level and compacted, ready for the finish layer, including the corners.
Typical accuracy is +/-10mm, especially when trimming in reverse.
Once the finish layer is applied the wheels are lowered and locked in position.
With the wheels lowered the final trim accuracy is typically +/- 3mm. This is due to 3 reasons:
* The rigidness of the patented QuadRod linkage, which has zero movement
in the linkage bearings
* The outboard cylinders mounted almost directly below the receivers, giving a direct reference between the receivers and cylinders
*More rigid ,pressed steel box structure with double pressing in the lower area, right where the maximum load is taken
This unit is operated by a Leica iCON grader control system that can be upgraded to full3D TPS. We have several operating in 3D TPS
They respond better than a large conventional grader to TPS in variable contours due to the narrower, more rigid blade following the contour easier. The ability to operate forward and reverse and increased maneuverability more than makes up for the narrower blade.

Hi Jesse Do the math: A 1200RPM laser allows the SharpGrade to respond and adjust grade 20 times PER SECOND. The fastest operator can only respond 4 times per second (all machine controls are hydraulically damped internally to prevent a faster response). The average response time is twice per second. A man on a grade stick maybe 8 times per minute on a good day. Coupled to that we can adjust tilt up to 10 degrees either direction automatically 20 times per second, it is physically impossible for even the best operator in the world to keep up. Plus we do not need a grade stick man...

What you are missing is that machine should hare the lasers tied into the machines hydraulics... The final gradingis automatic... But its better to start grading from the end he's pushing the rock to..and in this case the right side... Then you work the rock out the door.. The rock needs more moister. And compaction before final trim for grade..

Hi Adam On average, a Dual Grade SharpGrade is 3 times faster than a machine with a bucket, plus twice as accurate. We have never had anyone come close to the speed and accuracy we can achieve (although many delude themselves that they can), plus we do not need a man on a grade stick. There are many companies that will now only accept a SharpGrade prepared surface. If you do not have a SharpGrade, you do not get their business. This is the ultimate testimony...

If you can fit one of these laser graders on a 943-953 size rig, you would be in really good shape. They put lasers on dozers why not full size track loaders with quick attach blades?

i do this everyday to grade with just 333 and bucket no gps ya got to have that level in you seat lol

Anyone can push gravel around and pretend it is on grade. We precision grade to within 1.8"

Peoples comments crack me up I've used the Sharpe grade blade and its magic we had some blocks that bolted under the lift arms only about 70mm it worked better

Hi Alex Yes, some skid steer hitches are set a little low for efficient back-blading. As we have an adjustable hitch plate you can add up to 100mm of spacers: another unique feature only available on a SharpGrade!

You can do the same thing with a 4 in 1 bucket! I do it everyday and cut it concrete/paved ready in 1/2 the time. The tracks eliminated the hideous grader attachment.

Take the 4:1 bucket and put it just flat on the ground. Without moving the machine, open the bucket up about 6 inches. Now roll the bucket out so the open part of the bucket is a depth guide and the blade on the inside is trimming the dirt. I cut pads for very highly sophisticated machine shops. I have won twice in Las Vegas at the kick some bucket contest for superior grading. The bucket splits apart go more that just ripping stumps up and picking up piles.
