refreshing to see a powerlifter running *towards* competition instead of away from it

So close on that last deadlift! Going for the win is the right move :)

Much respect going for the win. I'm really hoping that powerlifting in Oz is a bit more stable over the next few years.

JP, your efforts were outstanding, you absolutely killed it, that 280kg squat was insane and the only squat close to depth all day. Congrats!

Tight lifts, the jump to the texas can really put you off, you really feel how the extra flex puts the levers in slightly different positions. Great lifts mate

Markos and Emad do such a good job from what I see (on social media from the UK) great comps and really growing the sport over there. Shame the whip cost you that last deadlift but it sounds like it won't be your last go on one!

Incredibly strong for an 80kg bloke. Great stuff.

JP where will you be competing going forward? Would be good to get your view given the current issues with Aussie powerlifting. There's also now USAPL in Australia providing another option for drug tested comps

Yeh we'll be doing USAPLAustralia here!

Great performance bro, was awesome watching you. quick question though- any reason why you didnt use the DL bar on all your deadlift sessions when you knew youd be competing with it?
@JohnPaulCauchi2 жыл бұрын
Thank you mate! 2 reasons; just didn't have access to one. I did one session on one at Apex but it was a bit much to get there twice per week from where I am. Secondly, i didn't think it would be too big of a deal, I've done deadlift bar deads fairly comfortably in the past with no practice.
