Other person said shin touch the bar first before pulling the slack but you do it opposite.

So basically, lift the bar until it makes that click sound without lifting the plates off the floor???

The only record that matters is the ATWR. All the other "records" are meaningless.
@MrLamborghini19945 ай бұрын
That's a pretty dumb take considering the fact that ATWRs are done under very different circumstances and that's no unified standard for them as far as judging goes. A record that's done under strict judging, drug tested, stiff bar, 2 hour weigh-in and at an international event is very meaningful.

Great explanation, only thing you missed is how I can not look like an ego lifter while doing this? (Yea, it's the federations fault for not banning it already) But let's be honest, you look stupid doing that sort of stuff. (I'd do it too if it got me gold, but I'd at least be ashamed about it.)

Should one avoid squats/deadlifts if they have anterior pelvic tilt and can't control the pelvis? I feel hurt doing them and I noticed this is the issue (or one of)

I'm wondering if this might be the exact reason I hit a brick wall on my deadlifts. To make matters worse, my low back has been sore asf & last time I tried them I couldn't even pull a single rep with like 80% of my highest set of five. Definitely going to try this next time i deadlift as soon as this low back soreness dies down.

I find it so funny how he is influencing people to fuck their backs and to cheat themselves into doing 0 reps. How about people actually progress and bench properly and put in the work. Arching is for lazy ass people who think doing 0 reps is an accomplishment 😂😂😂

What would happen if we squatted in neutral and anterior pelvic tilt. Wouldn't that strength the body in both positions?

anything to diminish that range of motion eh? i love power lifting but creating a bench with 3 inch press is sad.
@jasonspek40411 ай бұрын
it’s confusing when the standard is “mid-foot, near the tongues of your shoes” and “nearly brushing shin, about 1 inch from shin”. because for me, those are very different. like a whole 3 inch difference between the two. so which is it?? been trying to figure it out for forever. thank you for giving me a more comprehensive answer!!

it's the opposite for me. The tucked non-vertical style make my shoulders hurt so much, but the vertical-flared style is totally fine on my shoulders :)

1b seems a lot like shifting your body weight back at the ankle joints, like in another video you made which goes through how to get your body weight behind the bar. Is that basically what your doing here?
@JohnPaulCauchi Жыл бұрын
Not quite. 1b here is a pulling upwards action. There's no shifting of the bodyweight here. It's around this point where you might need to shift back but shifting back and pulling up are different things. To paraphrase, 1b is putting force into the bar. You're using the muscles of your back, glutes and hamstrings to pull on the bar. Shifting of the bodyweight back is simply that, shifting the balance point. No force being applied necessarily.
@tombailey-burnley6722 Жыл бұрын
@@JohnPaulCauchi Should you shift back after taking up the slack then? Also I was wondering whether or not I should be tightening your core before breathing in, in 1a?
