Hi DollFace - I happen to know the 1st woman you were supposed to train with... She was my trainer. Her wife, I know her also, had nothing to do with you not getting on her truck.. The 1st trainer stepped up to help a woman that was in DIRE need. Unfortunately, there are so few women trainers in this industry that many women have to wait for as long as a month for a woman trainer. So glad you are part of the Knight family. I just got on the truck with my trainer. It took 3 weeks after school to find me a trainer. I was soo excited but now I'm a little disappointed. She's very cool and a great driver! HOWEVER...she smokes and she has a dog, which I didn't find out about until I flew to meet her. And those are the only two things requested of my trainer no smoking, no pets. It's already challenging bc obviously it's a tight area for two strangers. But I can make do with only that for 4 weeks. But I always have to try to step over her dog dishes (water, and food) it's very irritating . I've stepped in the water in the dark, and my wallet fell in once. I've never been close to a dog so it's new for me. She's the best behaved dog, she never barks, follows orders. I would have her as a pet off the truck. But I have very sensitive skin. Now My face has these two itchy patches and I know it's from the Dog. It's just a mild allergic reaction I get Sometimes if I touch even a new person (handshake, hug etc.) and then touch my face same thing happens. Anyway, there's dog hairs everyyyywhere. On the truck we get showers as often as possible but it's not guaranteed everyday, and of course we don't know exactly when or where. So how often do you think a dog on a truck gets a bath??? ..🤔 lol. Needless to say the truck smells. So I can't even eat on there bc the smell turns my stomach and I'm afraid I'll eat dog hairs. Then when I go to take showers I'll sometimes see dog hairs on my towel!😐. I'm gonna try to hang on as long as I can before requesting another trainer though. I really didn't want to be that person 😐. But again very disappointing 😥

I learn't how to drive by being a truck driver helper delivering dairy products locally (13 franchise stores). TBH I don't think I could have been OTR, I fall asleep to easily, if it wasn't for my helper nudging me we would'ave run off the road. Mad respect 4 OTR truckers! I didn't have to take any training like they do these days just get in and drive. You're too young 4 me but hey if your ever in Vegas you can park on my st. :) I loved backing up!

My trainer pushed me 10:58 minutes ever day and my 30 mins was eating a subway or burger while driving. I drove 7400 miles my first week ugh. I did 17 different grades of hills and was in every state from Nebraska West in the 10 days.

They do offer training you just have to go to Phoenix for training if you don't have a CDL and if you do then you'll just have to get with a trainer that's not located in Texas

I think you’re doing awesome and will take this as encouragement if I pursue truck driving. Are you required to sleep in the truck all the time or can you sleep in hotel ? I’m nervous about that as a female. When they set you up with your trainer are you allowed to specify preferences such as non smoker, male or female trainer, etc? Does KT pay mileage only or per diem on long hauls? What’s the mileage pay rate after training is complete? How often would you get to come home during and after training? Are you guaranteed to be able to take a shower everyday?

AllThingsGlamour hi, I hope I can answer all of your questions. As for sleeping in the hotels you can sleep in a hotel if you like that will come out of your pocket it will come down to when you stop for the night are you located near hotel where you can check in and does that hotel accept Trucking parking. Sleeping in the truck is not bad if you take precautionary measures you will be safe and the truck stops the major truck stops are normally safe and well lit as well as monitored. As far as Trina preferences they tried to stick women with other women trainers and you can choose if you would like a smoker and nonsmoker. You have a choice if you want to be paid per mile or per diem it just comes down to your preference, honestly per diem is the best way to go. The mileage pay after training is on a sliding fee scale if you look under my videos you will see that information there. As far as how often you'll be home it depends on the trainer's truck if you have a trainer that goes through your city Austin if they were like on a dedicated account and they are going through say for example Las Vegas every other day and you may be able to get home however training is 4 weeks on the truck so you'll be home after 4 weeks. Now after training you get one day off for every week that you are on the road so you decide when you want to go home the ideal is to be on the road anywhere from 4 to 5 weeks so you can get a good check before you go home on home time. And as far as showers if you plan your trips efficiently you should be able to stop at a truck stop every night and you should be able to shower every night if you come to a situation where you can't shower they always say carry baby wipes until you can get to a truck stop in the shower but you always almost always have to go to a truck stop rather it's for food to use the bathroom or two fuels and all the truck stops have showers. You shouldn't be so quick to judge someone especially when they're trying something new for the first time I'm sure when you first started driving anything that you drove you didn't know what you were doing also and you have to learn how to do it so don't judge me because I didn't know how to drive in the rain or the snow and I was tired thank you

DollFaceTrucker I'm on my 2nd week with a trainer, ive drive thru it all rain, snow, wind,ice you name it, sunday my 1st week 3rd day on the truck i drove 612 miles I had roughly 5 minutes left on my 11. I know what I'm doin, backing easy shifting easy, hill climbing easy dealing with 4 wheelers well that'll never be easy.....

That's what's up, it's cool that you got it by your second week as you're supposed to. By the end of the 3rd week you should have been exposed to as many situations as possible and by the beginning of the 3rd week you should be running the truck completely by yourself. Well in the first week it was hard, learning a new skill was challenging to me because I never did it before and my trainer didn't help, I'm with a new trainer now and I drive dry van
