Really good video! I loved how mentioned some pros that are not disability related because sometimes the SD community acts like it's not okay to have fun with your SD.

thank you for watching! and i totally agree! being disabled obviously sucks, but it's not all terrible when you have a doggo by your side:)

This was really interesting. The increased freedom and independence along with the ability to do more things on my own or primary reasons why I am currently in the service dog program application process. The biggest con I’m not looking forward to is having to interact with so many people and answer random strangers questions, but I guess it’ll make me a better self advocate which is good.

it will totally help with your self advocacy skills! it helped me for sure!!! :)

How do you bring up a service dog idea to your therapist??
@thepawswithpurpose4 жыл бұрын
if you have a psychiatrist, i would recommend talking to them instead. sometimes they are more informed and have more experience with service dogs. if they decide that's something that would help you a lot of times they can actually write a prescription for a service dog! i hope this helped you :)

Hi I loved this video! It was very educational! I was wondering if these few things are considered a Disability or not! Anxiety Social anxiety Anger issues Sh ( I can put in replys what it means! ❤️🩹) Panic attacks (very easy to trigger.) Hard time speaking up getting out of bed So that’s the stuff i wanted to know if are technically a disability or not, or if it is even eligible for a SD that’s all I wanted to ask nvm it’s not all I wanted to ask I also want to ask How can you bring up getting a service dog if my things(The stuff I listed) are eligible for one

In america having a condition that impairs one or more parts of daily life For me I am autistic which means some of my issues are I can't go to the store by myself and have panic attacks and shutdowns really often and I really can't deal with them on my own So you might benefit from a psychiatric service dog for instance but you should talk to your mental health professional (which it sounds like you definitely need if you don't have one already) about your specific situation Not an expert by the way
