By chance I came across this video and another with similar information about a month ago and so grateful. I hard dealing with a chronic yeast infections for two years and no matter what I tried nothing seemed to work. Prior to that I had no problems at all so such a change can be life changing Anyway after I watching your video I tried a little experiment and paused taking jardience which I used along with Metformin ER for about a two weeks, all the while I closely monitored my sugar levels via glucose meter so I can act accordingly. I chose two weeks because that was about the longest break I had between dealing with the recurring infections also for me it was a safe period of especially with glucose monitoring. Well, the results were remarkable and now I’m almost a month out with no symptoms and my glucose levels are just as good just as good. I will be sharing my results to my doctor at the next visit. Fortunately we work together on my health care plan and will be revised accordingly. This has made such a difference in my quality of life and I thank you. You now have a new subscriber. Keep up the great work.👍🏾💕 Since everyone situation is different, I don’t advise trying this without talking to your primary care physician

UPDATE: Jardiance was also FDA approved for heart failure with reduced ejection fraction as of 8/18/21. The approval was then expanded to all forms of heart failure as of 2/24/22.

What jardiance can do to heart failure?
@pillsandthings
@pillsandthings 2 жыл бұрын
@@amosjuliantampubolon2413 I don't think they know the exact mechanism of how Jardiance helps heart failure but recent studies show that Jardiance significantly reduced hospitalizations due to heart failure (less people were hospitalized for heart failure while on Jardiance compared to those that weren't taking it) and it reduced death from heart disease (cardiovascular death). This was shown in both heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). Hope that answers your question. www.boehringer-ingelheim.us/press-release/us-fda-approves-jardiance-empagliflozin-treat-adults-heart-failure-regardless-left

@@pillsandthings I noticed Farxiga helped to remove a lot of water I was retaining. The water was making my breathing worse but I thought it was my asthma. The flip side is that it can make me very dehydrated too so when I start getting dehydrated, I skip a couple days and start up again.
@pillsandthings
@pillsandthings 2 жыл бұрын
@@prettyyoungthingpyt5015 Yeah, it has some diuretic-like properties that will do that. Regarding the dehydration, if it gets bad enough to where you need to stop the medication for a few days, that sounds serious enough to where you might want to talk to your doctor about it and your fluid intake.

I can’t take metformin so farxiga has been wonderful for me. I take it at bedtime with oxybuttin which helps!

@pillsandthings 9 ай бұрын
Glad it is working out for you! Usually people take it in the morning because it can make you pee more (which might disrupt your sleep if taken at night) but I suppose the Oxybutynin should help minimize that potential side effect

Any information on Jardiance and Prostate problems ?
@pillsandthings
@pillsandthings Жыл бұрын
The main one that I am aware of is that Jardiance can potentially make you urinate more. Having an enlarged prostate (BPH) already causes more frequent urination and the Jardiance can make this symptom worse, which may impact your quality of life.

I'm type 1 (LADA). Endo put me on Ozempic and Farxiga. Ended up in coma. 6.7 acid levels. Not expected to live. Got lucky. Anyway that's my experience.
@pillsandthings
@pillsandthings Жыл бұрын
Wow, I’m glad you made it! Ketoacidosis is serious business. There is not much data with Farxiga use in patients with LADA. In the US, Farxiga is not FDA approved for patients with type 1 diabetes, although it does get prescribed off label. There are some benefits with it in people with type 1 diabetes, but there is also a noted increased risk for ketoacidosis.

Jardiance VS Metformin?? for Insulin Resistance??
@pillsandthings
@pillsandthings Жыл бұрын
Both medications have studies showing they can improve insulin resistance but I was not able to find any head to head studies to see which one was better at improving insulin resistance. That being said, Jardiance is usually added on top of Metformin in type 2 diabetes, so most people will probably be on both unless side effects are an issue. As a side note, exercise and weight loss can help a good deal with insulin resistance.

Does taking Farxia mean that it can lead to hypoglycemia? I consume a whole-food diet with little sugar. I am scared that my diet will have to include more sugar so that I do not have hypoglycimea when taking Farxiga. Does this medicine make the pancreas not work anymore on its own because the sugar metabolim is taken over by the medication? Or does it give the pancreas a break? Does the chemical compound in Farxiga purify or toxify the physicology In course of time? Will the pancreas not work anymore at all because it is not used in a normal way? Do people just become dependent on this medicine for life? Does the body have a chace to get back its own healthy functionality or is the body's own functionality inhibited.
@pillsandthings
@pillsandthings Жыл бұрын
Hypoglycemia is possible but not common with Farxiga. This risk also depends on if you are taking other medications that also lower blood sugar. Regarding your diet, your doctor will be the one to make that call. They usually recommend less carbs/sugar in patients with diabetes so it probably won’t be an issue as long as you know what symptoms to watch for, but your doctor should be the one to let you know. As far as I am aware, this medication shouldn’t negatively impact your pancreas. Saying ‘it gives the pancreas a break’ is probably an accurate statement since Farxiga helps flush out blood sugar in the urine, which lowers blood sugar, which means your pancreas does not have to make/release as much insulin to lower the blood sugar, which ‘gives it a break’.
@pillsandthings
@pillsandthings Жыл бұрын
Regarding ‘being dependent on this medication for life’, this medication treats diabetes in that it lowers blood sugar, but it doesn’t cure diabetes, so most people would take it long term to prevent their blood sugar from going back up. That being said, I’ve seen some people that dramatically increased their exercise, reduced their carbs/sugar intake, and lost weight and were able to come off of their diabetes medication (with the approval of their doctor of course). It’s not easy, but possible. It also depends on how far along the diabetes is because at some point, the insulin producing beta cells in the pancreas get ‘burnt out’ and stop producing insulin so there may be a point of no return. Exercise, low carb diet, and weight loss can still help reduce the amount of injected insulin needed though (if a person has reached that point).

If doctors really was in the business to help patients, why give someone a prescription of Jardiance? My thought would be giving patients a low dose of a long acting insulin like: Lantus, a maintenance dosage of 3 mgs daily shows significant improvements of controlling higher A1C, no stress on the kidneys, improved heart function, less chances of strokes, no infections, ect., Why don't doctors research the choices instead of jumping to a medication that has more cons than pros? The most known diabetic medication to treat diabetes is Metformin, been around for many years, but it causes more harm than good. Why not use Lantus or a long acting insulin, that helps insulin receptors to recommunicate within the cells? The number one cause from type 2 diabetes is called insulin resistance, it's because the insulin receptors stop functioning simply because the glucose does not use it as an energy source like it should due to the insulin receptors temporarily loss of communication.

3 mg? That’s 300 units of insulin. That would be an extremely lethal dose
@pillsandthings
@pillsandthings Жыл бұрын
Great question. The choice of diabetes medication to take is highly individualized and depends on a shared decision making between the patient and the prescribing doctor. Everything has its pros and cons, including insulin. Pros are that insulin doses can be titrated to whatever the patient needs to lower their blood sugar. Cons are that insulin can cause weight gain, low blood sugar episodes, daily injections (which many people hate), require closer glucose monitoring (which require more frequent finger pricks, which people hate), and insulin is expensive (although costs should be coming down soon allegedly). Regarding heart disease benefits, insulin has mixed results. Lantus (glargine) specifically showed a neutral cardiovascular risk per the ORIGIN trial. Since heart disease is the main reason people die from diabetes, that may explain why doctors are choosing medications like Jardiance with proven heart disease benefits. Here are some good articles to read for further information on the topic. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4315664/ www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4900970/

Regarding how insulin works, insulin is basically the key that opens the door so that glucose (sugar) can get from your blood stream into your body’s cells. If the sugar stays stuck in your blood stream, it can cause a lot of trouble all over your body (heart, kidneys, feet, etc.) Insulin resistance is when you need more and more insulin to open that door and get the same effect. Weight loss and exercise help decrease insulin resistance. Regarding the 3 mg dose of Lantus that you mentioned, Lantus is measured in units and comes in a concentration of 100 units per mL. 3 units of Lantus is a very small dose for someone with a high A1c, while 3 mL (equivalent to 300 units) is an extremely high dose and likely dangerous, as mentioned by the commenter above.
