Your kids are so cute! Thanks for letting them give their perspective! We recently visited Boise and were really impressed! Downtown was so clean and only saw 2 homeless the whole week. It was nice to see nothing was locked up behind plexiglass in your stores. Highways/roads had no trash/litter all over. Treasure Valley is very pretty!

Really love this video. Thank you and your lovely kids sincerely. We might move to Idaho with a bigger kid, 13. Hope he will like the things the lovely kids listed. Maybe later a video about middle and high school? Again, thank you! Please give my thanks to the cute little girl and boys.

What are the schools like there? Do you feel like it’s a good school system? Good education and other options like charter schools?

Why are there little to no trees driving in from Oregon to Idaho especially on the hills? Were they deforested a long time ago & just never grew back again or was it always the case?

During childhood I'd come from Portland to ski the mountains. There must have been fires. I remember much more myself

Because it’s a desert, the soils and precipitation do not support forests at this elevation in the foothills.

It’s high desert in southwestern Idaho. Also more than half of OR. There’s plenty of sagebrush! But it’s brown and ugly and the beautiful trees people envision when they picture Idaho is all in the northern part of the state.

Don’t believe the influencers and Chamber of Commerce - Boise, Idaho is no longer a great place to move. Housing is very expensive, property taxes are increasing substantially every year and elected officials do nothing to address this. Homeowners insurance has doubled. The health care system is in decline - you wait months to get an appointment with a specialist and many doctors and nurses are leaving because of the extreme politics. It is next to impossible to see a doctor, usually you get a LPN. Health care for women is especially in short supply. Per student expenditure for Idaho schools is one of the lowest in the nation - public schools are not good despite what others say. Childcare is also in short supply. It is also challenging to get electricians, plumbers, and other home repair assistance as they are all overloaded with growth demands. The climate has changed over the past decade with many more dry years than previously and high temperatures. We experience extreme heat with temperatures over or close to 100 most of July and because of the jet streams we experience wildfire smoke more often in the summer from fires in CA and OR as well as ID, which get worse each year. In the winter we are experiencing more inversions because of additional traffic and growth. All those outdoor activities that are promoted are now overcrowded - traffic jams going to the ski area in the winter and up into the mountains, campgrounds are now overflowing, parking for boating at the reservoir full, etc. Be aware that Boise is a high desert. Our annual rainfall is similar to Tucson. Our homeless population is growing and the state does not provide resources to address the growing problem. We have some non-profits who will tell you that less resources are available and the demand is only growing. Things are only going to get worse as elected officials here do nothing or pass laws tying the hands of cities to address the challenges with growth. They are not investing in infrastructure to address this growth. The comment on biking is a little misleading. With additional traffic and not sufficient road system to move cars, we are seeing more aggressive driving and more pedestrian and bike conflicts with cars, which has included fatalities. Our legislature has passed laws prohibiting use of transportation funds to create safe bike routes along roads. Boise is heading to be more like Phoenix with the growth, politics and policies, not like OR or WA at all.

REALTORS are the only ones claiming it’s great and encouraging people to move. It’s not as great as your agent tells you. Realtors and retirees love it; the rest of us are getting priced out and it’s become overcrowded and increasingly less safe. This dude can’t even pronounce Boise correctly. Go home!
