Dear Sandra, I notice that you deleted my response re being black in Costa Rica. If you are concerned to not enter into potentially controversial issues like racism, that is understandable and quite OK. However, it might be hard for people taking the issue of traveling black seriously and needing some insight, especially in light of what is now happening in the US. Ppl look at these videos for insight to make life altering decisions for themselves and children. If you do not want that responsibility, why not just delete the last part of the title re 'being black in CR'? Otherwise, it will seem like you are using this serious issue as click bait when it has far reaching impacts on people's lives.

I am aware of the current state of the situation in the u.s and I am not ignorant about it. My costa rica videos are about my experiences as a black person here. I have not experienced any major rasist experiences therefore you wont find any of that on my channel. It's not click bait because it is my experience as a black girl in costa Rica.

Hey hun. I understand your point, but i don't understand why her putting black girl in CR is wrong. She is a black girl and she is in CR so why should she remove it? Just because she is black then she can't have non racist experiences. I am China and ive never experienced anything horrible because of my race but there are people that have and that can not be ignored but I can speak about their experiences as my own. I think that's the same with this situation too. Being black doesn't always mean you are guaranteed to go through horrible situations. Its not always one dimensional.

Well. My dear I did my own hair n brought extentions from Africa. Its hard to find someone who can braid your hair and the materials hence it is expensive when you do find the person

I wore my hair braided. I actually saw more black people there than I thought. Also saw a beauty supply store black owned. But it wasn’t expensive for the hair.

Thats so cool. Well where I was that is not the case and cheap to you am sure is expensive to me. In Africa we buy extentions for as little as 30 cents braid your hair for as little at 1 dollar. So paying 100 dollars to braid my hair is stretched.

the tap water in most parts is safe to drink. i know they said its because cosmetics have to go through a health hazard inspection which you have to pay for and they add it to tax which is crazy. most black people are found in the Caribbean side of the country

Can someone share what the economy is like? How does an American start the process of relocating there. I’m in the technology field are there jobs? Do I have to be eligible for a student visa only to relocate? Can I earn a living?

Okay the economy is very stable but taxes are crazy for example if you buy clothes worth 180 online the tax will be 110 usd. Unemployment rates are low currently at 12% almost all the graduates who decide to work find employment within the 4 months. About the student visa. I believe if you have admission and can prove that you can sustain yourself then you are good. But note if you have a student visa you cant work

I dont know much about your field because am in agriculture but am sure you can research and find answers. And regards to an American relocating I know if you have an American passport you dont need a visa to enter the country. But am not sure for how long nor if you can work without a permit. Okay in the capital and towns wifi is accessible but it is expensive. I live in an international university an so I have great internet. In my host family had no service and wifi could not be installed there coz its very rural. So I believe if you in a urban town ul be fine

I live in my university and here all is well. The school supports us completely in such cases. One of my close friends got raped after a party but the authorities where involved she has been in cancelling and the guy has been dealt with.
