I'll never live in an HOA community again. They inevitably become small gestapo outposts, they serve no real purpose other than discriminating against whoever they feel isn't right for their community. They reduce city services by charging YOU for road maintenance when the rest of the city gets them for the taxes that you already pay, so you're basically getting charged twice for the same thing. Never paying for HOA, you want to charge me for a guard at the gate and using the pool, fine, I won't use the pool, since I wouldn't buy a house without one anyhow.

Fair, some people like them. Some people hate them. Nobody loves them though.
