Lived in Colorado all my life. Coming up on 4 generations. My son moved to Fort Collins while attending CSU. I took the drive every month from south to north and I watched the change. The separation between towns has disappeared. The open spaces are gone, Fort Collins itself has gotten too large at once and there is no room for expanding the roads so the congestion is too much. The victorian home with the grave site is now a parking lot with no graves. I got into town when I got to the tracks now it move east. One small Walmart became three. I am from Colorado and I don't like developers killing the beauty. No horses, no geese wandering the roads, the deer are being killed more often. No one slows down. I can go on but I said enough.

Idk. I think Fort Collins and Larimer county has done a phenomenal job about keeping and adding open spaces that are protected while growing. I can attest geese are walking all over the place as well 😂 - I’m sure it’s different though from the 4 generations both you and I have experienced. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

How is the electricity continuity during the snow storms or heavy wind/hail?
@LivinginFortCollinsColorado2 ай бұрын
In my adult life, I can’t think of any areas without power in Northern Co during storms. Fort Collins specifically has underground utilities and so never loses power. Surrounding areas, to my knowledge, do not experience loss of power during storms.

@@LivinginFortCollinsColorado I would definitely call that a PRO, especially for people moving from Texas, OK and the Midwest generally. Not something often thought about, but coming from a few different states where its a given that you'll lose power multiple times a year, its definitely a benefit to consider that is much less of a worry.

How windy is Fort Collins? I’ve seen things saying average wind speeds of 18mph?!?
@LivinginFortCollinsColorado2 ай бұрын
Fort Collins during late winter and spring can definitely get windy. Summer and fall seem to be pretty low key as far as wind.

@@LivinginFortCollinsColoradoawesome! Thank you for your reply! I’m torn between Fort Collins and Montrose and sustained 18mph winds would have been a dealbreaker for sure.
