Garrett, if possible, shoot a video about Olympia and its neighborhoods and surroundings during normal times and during the holidays. Which areas of this city are safer and which are not. Where are the best schools and so on. It would be interesting.

@@GarrettTerrell honestly my biggest worry is moving all my stuff. Movers are going to be around $4k which just seems crazy expensive especially since I’m only moving a 1 bd apartment. Leaving my couch here and buying a new one in WA. I’m just getting a lot of anxiety because it’s too early to prepare now since the move is happening in august

I'm considering moving to Olympia in the summer of '22 or '23 but don't know who to trust wirh moving possessions from my current home in Burbank CA. What would the cost be? How about the logistics? I won't have the money to buy a new home until after I sell my old one, so in the meantime do I put my furniture in a storage facility in Olympia and rent a room and a car while I look for a house to buy?
@GarrettTerrell3 жыл бұрын
There’s moving companies I can refer you too and basically what we’ve done with out of state clients before is you can fly in for a weekend or do FaceTime tours with me and then once you’ve identified a house we sell your house in California and simultaneously close on the new house so you don’t have to move 2 different times. We do this pretty frequently. Let me know if you have any questions you can send me an email if you’d like Garrett@TerrellHomeGroup.com

We were checking Oly out in October. Heard that the huge homeless tent camp on Deschutes was being cleaned out, did that ever happen? Downtown homeless issue wasn't bad in most places and we were walking all over for 5 days.
@GarrettTerrell3 жыл бұрын
Yeah it got cleaned out, the homeless issue in Olympia is not nearly as bad as people make it seem. Like every major city there's always going to be some degree of homeless.

My girlfriend wants to move there from CA, I've been there twice. I don't know if I can deal with the weather especially being a person who needs more vitamin D. I can see it being super depressing those 8 months. Have you ever live somewhere sunny and then gone back?
@GarrettTerrell2 жыл бұрын
That's a very valid point! I did, I played D1 baseball in Texas and it was very hot and came back here after college, fall and winter is pretty rainy here but spring and summer is usually sunny and 60-70. We just like to travel a lot when the weather gets bad

I've noticed people only talk about WA as if the West side is the only region & representation. The classic things you've heard about WA: Dense forest, rain, overcast etc. That's West WA & it is rainy & grey b/c that's typical of coastal places, but it isn't the only climate of WA lol. Do you like actual 4 seasons, more warmth, less greenery & surprisingly more Sun? Move to East WA. East WA is desert & has a different climate from what most people make WA mostly known for & they actually get the national avg for sunshine. When people talk about the overcast & wetness, they're referring to West WA. I do think it's funny that Washington is referred to as the "Evergreen state", it is the Evergreen state, but only on the West side LOL Btw, this is coming from someone who lives in West WA, but I don't think that the East WA gets talked about enough. It should!
